Buying this 2005 DC off my cousin with about 140k miles on it.

He has always had bigger tires on it apparently, but never paid to add the TPMS back in.

Lots to read through here. Will be upgrading the stereo and adding a backup camera in the coming weeks. Likely do a brake flush here as well, the pedal is spongy. Lots of reading material available here!

Welcome! A flush never hurts but you may also have to do some adjustment to the rear drums or the proportioning valve to help with the brake pedal feel. How's the frame look after being in Iowa? Come on over to the 1st gen section and you'll get a lot of good info and help if you need it.

Oh, I’m gonna need all the help I can get! There’s already so much I’ve been doing a lot of stalking and learning.

It’s not great underneath. All the skid protection is missing. I am planning to purchase all three pieces from SkidOffRoad.

Yeah that rust is going to need some attention if you want to keep the truck a while. I would make plans to get something on there to protect it before you start getting salt again. Fluid film or Wool Wax should get you through the winter and you can work on the rust in the spring.

I will pick up some Fluid Film this week. I’ll have to do the “crazy neighbor crawling under his truck” routine instead of “crazy neighbor mowing his lawn” routine.

It will be good to keep them on their toes!

Also check the parking brake, it has a huge impact on how soon and strong the pedal engages.
