I've been researching which tundra to buy. I go fishing and hunting and do some very light offloading on service roads and old two lanes. Nothing crazy. I'd like the TRD OR for those things but ive decided to go with a TRD sport because I hate the chrome. Ill be ordering a sport for the 2021 year.

I'm not a huge fan of the rims it comes with and am thinking of changing them out for all black rims. My question is if I'm gonna change out the rims should I just go with some 18" rims and tires? I've read that having 18s rather than the lower profile 20" will improve handling on bumpy roads. Im sorta thinking this could help to create a happy medium between the looks of the sport and the functionality of the OR

18s will ride better yes. More sidewall to absorb the bumps. It would be a nice truck- 18s with the sway bars of the TRD sport. Many actually add the sway bars to their TRD offroads, basically will be the same endgame if you are switching over the 18inch rims.

I am not a fan of 19 inch or larger wheels. I have had them on a few vehicles and they always ride harsher with very little improvement in handling. My wife has them on her SUV- 19 inchers and that little SUV rides harder on broken payment than my Tundra. Not to mention tire prices are often higher for the larger rims.
