I manage a 911 center after many years on the road as a Firefighter/EMT - yea you dont want to know ! For those in the business they understand and you have to have a weird sense of humor to work the street and survive - It is not for the faint of heart !

As a person who had an extended past with putting chemicals in my body that killed my teeth (many years clean), I appreciate you, doc.

I work on an ambulance and as a nurse, so I cannot share pictures etc. I honestly feel the worst part of my job is the documentation part, it's like doing homework, it's just not fun.

My worst day was a night I was working, and the fire department had possibly gotten foam on the cement floor earlier, but it had dried. I had sprayed the ambulance real quick after we got back form a call cause it was looking dirty, and the water presumably mixed with the foam. Fast forward about 15 minutes later and I was excitedly walking rather briskly to go up to bed since it was 10 pm. As soon as my boots hit the now water mixed with foam I went down to the cement floor landing chin first. I saw stars, spit out a bunch of broken pieces of my teeth, stopped the bleeding form my chin laceration, and noticed that my bottom teeth were able to move in two separate directions and I couldn't really open or close my jaw without significant pain. Anyway long story short off to the ER in my own ambulance (as a passenger). Multiple broken teeth, sutures, and a broken mandible (lower jaw) which was wired shut a couple days later. Most miserable 5 weeks (would have been 6, but thankfully one of the wires broke) of my life!! Went through 3 blenders, tons of frappes, a lot of tears, and Motrin, and many dental procedures. Thankfully my work brothers and sisters helped me get through it!!! You don't realize how much you enjoy eating and chewing your food until you can't!

I am fortunate enough to have a job I love working in Railroad for a major railcar component manufacturer as a Field Engineer.
All I have to bitch about is traffic, weather, and wearing a mask. That is all.
