    Blackouts coming soon!
    Hailing from Ohio!

Last year I bought a 2019 Tacoma to pull our new 3900lb camper. All the numbers were in spec and since we don’t camp too often I thought the Taco would make a great everyday vehicle. We pulled through the great smoky mountains and had no problems whatsoever besides the occasional 18 wheeler giving me a little blow by.

Earlier this year we were making a short trip along Route 35 in OH and the wind on that trip made it a white knuckle experience! Definitely a case of the ‘tail wagging the dog’!! Two weeks ago I had the taco in for its 10k service and my previous salesman made me an offer I couldn’t refuse on trade in and discounts for a 2020 1794!

We took the Tundra (named Hamilton) on its maiden camping trip out through MO and back to OH and boy do I LOVE my truck!!

From a fellow Ohioan....welcome aboard! My story is similar. I’ve owned many (7) Tundras but since we camp most of the time just 40 miles from home I tried a Ridgeline a few years back. It actually performed better than I expected towing our 4700# camper (loaded weight) but I would not have wanted to tow it through the mountains or in strong crosswinds. Thus back to a Tundra, which of course towed it very easily thru all conditions.....until the camper was stolen in June. That’s a story for another day, lol! We are picking up our new camper this Thursday which will top out at 6000#. I would not have even attempted towing that Much weight with the Ridgeline but have confidence the Tundra will do just fine. Congrats on your 1794, it’s a beautiful truck!

Welcome from Nevada. And I've sort of BTDT in nearly the same way.

I bought a 2018 Tacoma, to haul, first, a 1900 lb camper, and then a 2900 lb camper.

The four-day move/haul from Eastern Tennessee to Southern Nevada (seemingly uphill all the way, against head winds) convinced me that I should have gone Tundra from the start!
