No Alignment at DT

I'm just now finding out that DT does not offer alignment service at the shops. I didn't know that. If you get new tires, isn't that normally important for making sure truck is aligned (as part of getting new tires installed)?

Everyone recommends an alignment with new tires. Get the most life out of them, but if your old tires show even wear, your alignment should be in check. Won't hurt the get it checked tho. Lots of shops offer free alignment checks to get you into the door.

 

If the old tires were wearing evenly, and the steering wheel is straight, I would not touch it. OTOH, if the tire are wearing unevenly or on the inside/outside edge, you can have the tires installed at Discount and go to another shop for the alignment. My local DT has a list of local shops they send customers to.

 

I guess i'm the last to know. i've only got 14,000 on the clock and i'm already showing uneven wear. Rolled over to DT to get alignment and that's the first i knew about it. DT got a nice new shop right by my house. Had never heard about tire shop not doing alignment before but maybe it's common, don't know.

Want to move my cars from Kauffman Tire (now Mavis) to DT

 

I've been going to Discount Tire for the past couple of years. I wish they did alignments so it would be a one stop shop. I've had a good experience with them so far. Any issues that came up were fixed. Any wheels and tires they didn't have in stock they ordered and it showed up quickly.

 

No one shop does an alignment as part of a tire install.

never heard of Townfair.

 

Townfair tire does Free front end alignment with purchase of tires.

Town fair tire is big up in the Northeast area.. Apparently they are not a national chain..
