Joined the Dirty Sevens! Running King OEM extended travel shocks with King rear bump-stops and Deaver custom springs

 

Did the Peak 10 trail in Breckenridge a couple weeks ago. It was easy, but a lot of fun! Can't wait to get some undercarriage protection and go a little crazier lol.

 

What lift are you running? Looks nice!

 

Got a quick question for you guys. Do any of you still tow with 37’s?

Got a 2021 on order and putting together a mod list. I won’t be towing at the limit. At most it’ll be a lightweight stripped out track car.

 

I re-geared to 5.29 so it will not be an issue. I'm planning on having a tear drop offroad trailer.

 

So did I, I've towed 6K several times, once for 800 miles with zero issues

 

I likely won’t touch the gears. I ran 35’s on my old 4Runner on stock gears. Drivable, but gutless. I’m sure the Tundra would do better. Wheels will probably be 17” Method 313. Lightest ones I can find.

 

Your name is close enough that I already like you. Then add on a Tundra, 37s and a track car, and I’m damn near in love.

We’re on 37s with stock gears and you can tow a light track car just fine.

 

It’s actually not mine. My sister will be pulling her bfs civic. It’s got something like 900 hp last I checked.

I’m more into the high powered giant long wheelbase luxury barges. Gotta make up for my lack of length elsewhere.

 

Haha! Well, if you’re gonna have a luxury land barge, that’s a good one to have.
Also, 900 hp civic sounds wild.

Any Suggestions for uca’s i just got a 3rd gen CM And planing on going with Dobinson 3” lift and 37s on 17s im not sure what uca and diff drop (if needed) i should run

How are you guys liking your 37's on stock 4.30 gears ?

I chickened-out and put 35's on my truck... and sofar I think the stock gearing with them is just fine. Different... but fine.
I may consider 37's when these tires wear-out... but really dont dig the idea of a re-gear to do it.

 

Since I went with the aftermarket front bumper only did a body mount chop. Did it myself so not sure if it is more then the panels some of the places sell or not. To me it wasn't alot. And I trimmed the under shield wings off as well. With the factory bumper probably would have to chop it some of at least remove the wheel wells. Idk if I had to chop that much or not. I just didn't want to keep doing it. That couldhave been more then needed.

 

I'm scheduled for a regear with Nitro 5.29. Great to hear you're towing with good experience. You happy with the regear, how many miles ago? Get any gear whine or noise? Did you do a LSD or locker? You add airbags for towing? Thanks!

 

I did not do airbags but I'm going to.

I did Harrop E-lockers F/R. Zero issues, I'm at 10K on them

 

I can't see the photo well, but what's in that LS430? I see TRD writing on the manifold, doesn't look like the usual supercharger kit I've seen for them.

 

I like them just fine. I don't tow very much, but I do haul several hundred pounds regularly around town. I didn't like how jumpy the throttle was with stock tires, or even 35s. Even now with 37s, I'll press the gas a littler harder than I intend at stops, and squall the tires. It still throws me back in the seat for sure.

But I have a 2010, and I think the throttle tends to be a little more responsive than in the 2014+ models.

 

Its just the supercharger off the 4.7 Tundras. With some massaging it fits. It also had PPE headers and a custom 2.5” mandrel bent exhaust all the way back.

 

I ran my 37's for about a week on factory trd pro suspension. The only rubbing was the top of the rear fender when it was fully flexed.



Now I've got the MCM mid travel setup with ADS coilovers and rear bypasses and Deavers and everything clears so far. We will be out all weekend offroading and camping.

 

That’s a nice clean setup. I like that a lot. How many trips in the AT? How does it attach?

 

Thanks man I've only had the AT for a few weeks, but already have 5 nights in it. 3 more coming this weekend though.

To attach the camper they drilled holes through the bed caps and used bolts through that. It doesn't use the factory rails or clamps.

 

Tested out my new to me cutoff torch. I added some extra bmc today for my +18 plus a 1.25” spacer haha. The way my truck is lifted, the front track width is skinnier than the rear. Which has annoyed me on any vehicle my whole life. Front should be wider imo. Not by miles, unless it’s lt. With the way mine sits now, the front track width is 1.5” wider than rear total. I didn’t really notice mine were skinner until I added my wheels.

Looking into 37’s but had some questions. I’m somewhere in The 2.5- 3” lift area. I can see the benefit of the ground clearance with the bigger tires but will it limit my up travel with the fenders? Would it be better run a 35? Not really doing any high speed stuff more of a slower crawl over rocks?

 

Your limiting factor will most likely be the body mount behind the front tires. To stuff 37s, a bmc is in order.

Definitely the first rule! Already have a BMC, not worried about that and cutting punch welds. More looking for info on what would preform better

 

Ah, I’m sure someone here with a similar setup will give you some answers. I’m on 4” lift, spc uca’s, 37x12.5x18 +18 and 1.5” spacers without issue.
