7FF4FA77-254C-4639-9022-FA35A058FF61.jpg I want to do the storage tray mod. I’m going to use it as an amp rack mod for a Zapco ST-600X SQ (mids/highs) and a Zapco ST-1650 XM II(bass). I’ve seen these done and I know some models I think TRD have a wire harness under there? Mine will be three inches deep but only 2 3/4” cut into the foam 48” long. Pictures of my plans and gear. Please chime in if you know. I have a 2017 Tundra Crewmax Limited. Going all active up front with a DSR-1 for now and the rears will be C2 coaxial.972D1D94-0205-4C57-8876-8CE1ED94C81F.jpg09198F7A-98BE-40AC-869F-52F6FC716EFD.jpg

Are these bars on the 2017 Tundra Crewmax? I take it they are!

Yes. Those are the seat brackets. All the Crewmax trucks with fold up seats have them in the same spot. That's why the ESP Long box storage is so expensive. They had to provide new low profile seat brackets to be able to accommodate the full width box.

Thanks @AzureNightmare this saved me a weekend headache! I’m going to do his install video and make my own three bins for my amps and power distribution. Lack of space sucks and this is what I got to do to get some decent sound.

    Hey that's my post!
    Lol
To get any room the ESP long box is the way to go... I've seen the box top get modified to accommodate amps/subs too . But those are custom seat brackets that ONLY come with the ESP.

That’s new for the 2020s. ESP has a fix for it, shoot them an email or maybe @havasubud can assist.

Instruction in the longbox talks of it. I just wonder if it fits without issues

Our long box fits without issue. We had to redesign the plastic and metal three compartment boxes to get above it. That is for the smart key system. We had to take a half an inch of depth out of the center compartment to clear it. If you have any questions, give me a call. I have an idea for you. 951-858-3418

What is it, and can it be moved?

Thanks, but not really. I was asking what it was, not what it was for.

To me, it looks like a grossly oversized terminal block. Rather than giving up a 1/2 of depth across the entire floor of a storage compartment, I'd be curious if it could be replaced with something smaller and moved to a better location.

I get your point, that would be nice to improve space underneath the back seat.
