    Hello all,
New member here and new(ish) Tundra 1st Gen owner. I found a 2005 double cab, limited, 4x4, pretty clean with about 160k miles on it.

I'm having a pretty annoying issue with it and came here looking for anyone with similar problems and was surprised it didn't show up when I searched the forum. If anyone has the thread handy, please direct me.

Consistently, I have to press my brake, and then press it again harder, release and press again (usually withing 2 or 3 tries) to get it out of park. I'm sure it has a sensing device of some kind to prevent it from being shifted into drive without the brakes pressed, anyone know what I can look for?

    Thanks.

Remove panel and investigate around the steering wheel/shifter area. There is a ball that slides on a track. Push the lube back into the contact area. Lube shift cable connection located close by, as well.

Crawl under truck and lube the arm and cable where they attach to transmission side.

Welcome aboard! Be sure to push the brake fully, then pull the lever towards you and down. Pulling on the lever before pushing the brake fully may cause the release mechanism to bind.
