Oh, forgot to post. Here are pictures of my old cruddy brake fluid.




Once I saw how shitty it was, I went ahead and finished up. Thinking I was doing good.

Got in the truck and discovered I'd done a boo-boo. I asked the group for help, and tried to tinker a little more. I was tired, and getting no where. Phoned pops, and asked him to bring home Dot3. Went to bed.

Once I was ready for work we went out, and bled my brakes with new Dot 3. Pedal feel has returned to normal.

Not sure if it was the bleed, or the new fluid. Maybe a combo.

I did not take pics of the rear fluids, but I did get some gunkies out of the LSPV.


Edit: Dot 3, or old Dot 3 will eat Rustoleum bed liner... at least on plastic.

 

On a slab of meat like that, you just want to keep it under 24-36 hours depending on how salty your brine was.

 

Ok thanks, I did like half a cup of salt to 8cups of liquid(cider and cider vinegar)

 

@Casper421 good call. Fits like a glove. Still no way the 4 of us can fit but will work if I go out with just the dogs.

 

Yeah, my biggest concern wouldn't be saltiness. My concern would be the acid in the vinegar making the pork mushy. Acids tend to break down meats, it's why you don't marinate meat in, like, pineapple juice and you should avoid letting pineapple coming in contact with meat on a skewer or kebab. Especially for chicken.

I tend to go with water alone for my brines and avoid adding any acid. Then there's never a question about penetration, no concerns of time it's in there, or worries of changing the meat texture.

Not comfortably. This is when I wish I bought a DC. The fridge takes up about 50% of the back seat area and the remaining area is used for storage. I'll try to tweak more but I don't see both dogs fitting in the truck. Gunner is 70lbs so he needs some space.

what sort of things would you replace in that scenario. I assume you had to do a new rear main seal? Fresh oil and coolant even though it's practically a new engine?

 

I didn’t bother with the rear main because it still seemed pliable. I’ll monitor it, but typically yes, new rear main, i pull the oil pans on my own cars to check the internals and paint the oil pans (they get scratched up in the junkyard and eventually will rot out) and replace the spark plugs.



this one being pure budget and being such low mileage all I’ve done is put it in and let it go. I have an air fuel sensor coming and a new thermostat (because it’s stuck). Other than that, this is one of the quietest corollas I’ve heard running

 

Makes the inside of the engine bay look a lot better. Guess I’ll be pulling all the rust shit and painting it in My free time

I'm guessing that FR is front right, and that second empty spot is where the float would go. I'm guessing I don't have the wiring for it either...

Unless @empty_lord knows where it would be tucked up. Like my fog light wires were ziptied to the body since my truck didn't come with fogs.

So I've been wondering, why do we measure from the hub when measuring lift? Wouldn't it be the same from the ground? From the hub to the ground isn't gonna change.

 

Eliminates differences from tire size.

 

Ohhhhhh. Like if dude A has 33s, and dude B has 275/65/16, the hub measurement would be the same on both, but ground measurement would be different?

Ok. Since you believe, then when measuring your wheels distance you would start from the ground and go up to the wheel well. Take that measurement and factor in a multiplier of 3.14 (Pi) which is an actual infinite number. Divide that by the angle of deflection due to seasonal ground angle. Once you achieve this Grasshopper, then you will have inner bliss with Ying and Yang.

Well, I can't see too well into the front of the reservoir. I'll just assume its up in front until I actually find it.
