Seeking some Tundra advise and help :)
I just installed fender flares and I'm not 100% I love the look. Feel like I need to maybe now run spacers (Spidertrax??) to widen out the tires/base some.

    Anyone have any thoughts?

They feel like they are now with the flare addition. I need to take a better profile pic from behind.

Looks great. If you add the Spiders, don't let your tires stick out past the flares. Defeats the whole purpose of having flares to begin with.

Go with the OEM flares if you can. The rivet flares don't look good on our trucks

The OEM flares look great but lots of members here that have the riveted style pocket flares will disagree. Lots of them...painted to match is even better!

i voted "NO". not a fan of flares. i am a believer that they cause more damage to paint than they prevent.

Not if installed properly. A narrow clear vinyl protective strip placed on the fender where the flare rim edge "rides" on will prevent paint scuffing and can be easily removed.

I say keep the flares but get some proper offset wheels and tires to at least be even with the flares. Otherwise, keep your wheels and ditch the flares.

Thanks guys. I'm going to try and run the wheels/tires even with the flares. I'll updated with a couple pics once its done. I prefer the Rivet style - definitely a personal choice here. Cheers

    I think it looks good.

Aftermarket wheels and larger tires match with those type of fenders.

If you want the tires to stick out pass the pocket style (Rivet) fender flares, I recommend going with a wheel with around zero offset as that plays a bigger roll than the tires. I’m running -44 offset with 33x12.5 tires, but that requires a body mount chop and more to prevent rubbing.

SCS Wheels 18 - Tires are 285/70. I ended up painting the hardware black as I couldn't find the exact size online anywhere. I'm happy with the Rhino Sides...looks great!

I like the look without flares. You could go w/ a 0 offset wheel or spacers to bring them out close to flush. Damned if the coin doesn't add up though. If it were me I would remove flares and keep the same wheels- they look good!
How do you like the running boards?

Tundra AB1.jpg Stay with the flares, love the rivets. It all depends what you like tho, we all have different tastes. I think your truck looks great with the flares :)

Rivets are for FJs, but it’s a personal preference. Looks good on the right truck.

Your truck looks good. I plan to install similar type flares. However I plan on raising the truck a bit to get 35's. I personally think the larger tires are more proportionate to our big boy trucks.

Maybe look into EZ Flares. Im gonna give them a shot eventually cause I just dont like the look of the 2nd gen options for flares.

flares for me! completes the look for my build given wheels and gas door, and they are functional. just seems naked to me now without them. good luck deciding but to me looks good with them as long as your wheels are not tucked in.

i'm running 0 offset so without flares the tires stick out ~2inch. with flares they are flush! just paid to not worry about the paint. went with xpel ppf full front and rear quarter panels. 10yr warranty. no rock chips, pinstripes, paint issues from flares, etc.

Fender flares look good if done right and if the wheels are not sunken in. I personally think it looks best when the wheels/tires are flush with the fender with or without flares.

So I ended up putting on a lift and running 17's with 35" tires. I'll get pics up soon. Thanks again for the input. I wanted to list my SCS/Nitto setup here for sale. Looks like I need a little more history/site time before I can post. Anyway around this :) Cheers
