Hey fellas I'm new to the boards. I'm currently in the market for a new truck since my 01 tacoma has been sent to heaven by a lady pulling out in front of me while I was goin 45.

I've read through some threads here and have gotten some reassurance when buying higher mileage Tundras, but I guess I'm looking for some validation. This truck will primarily be somewhat of a DD (i don't drive much maybe 10k/yr). I like the 4D and the option to tow heavier loads if the time arises. The 2D taco was my baby, but hot damn let me tell you I might as well have gotten a miata with as much room as she gave me in the cabin. Occasionally I will drive for work, but we have farm trucks for that. I've never truly trusted a vehicle on long rides, but I'm hoping I can change that with this purchase.

This is the Tundra I'm looking at https://www.toyotaofgreenville.com/...eenville-f014c2360a0d04fe5cda681ef2905599.htm

I was happy to see it is local to my area (SC) and 1 owner with meticulous records dating back to it's purchase all the way up to the 263k mile mark. I was sent the CARFAX earlier today. Like I said I'm looking for validation and any insight is much appreciated!

Ii is probably a solid truck. Their price seems a bit high given the mileage. I know used prices are up lately, maybe it's not really that high.....

I'd try haggling on price a little. 1 owner/ meticulous records is worth something though.
BTW , FFV V8's are 5000 mi oil change interval.

For a Toyota dealer(who will demand more) I think that is a tad high but in line of an asking price especially with the records but that wouldn't stop me from offering $10k. A small dealer or private party may be 3-4k less but the value of the records and known maintenance is something only can put a $ on for yourself. I bought a 2011 Crew max in July at auction for $10,900 with 102,000 miles that was used at a coal mine(lots of gravel roads). Since then I've put over $2k into all new shocks/struts/tires/rims and fixing a leaky rear differential. I saw an auction end last week for a 2007 with 260k for $7k.

Yeah the prices for trucks is a little ridiculous right now. I couldve sworn I heard used car prices were supposed to be crashing. I'm hoping I can talk em down, but I think I saw on the VIN lookup they bought it for 11k which doesnt sound like something a dealership would pay. I'll check the NADA and see what it says the price should be around.

Depends on what the person traded it in on. They may offer 11k on a trade in on a new Tundra at list price to make the guy think he's getting a deal for his trade.

Nice well cared for Tundra but seems a bit high, but then again my local Yota dealer has zero Tundras' on the lot right now. Supply and demand in your area will affect prices.

I purchased my '07 for cheap 3 years ago when it had 270,000 and NO service records, it's about to hit 295,000 and I'm loving it.

There are plenty of Toyota dealers with an overall general good reputation

Maybe you could take it to one of them

or the Toyota Lexus specialties shops around the Atlanta area

Common sense goes a long way in most cases. I’m sure you could figure something out

Every vehicle I now own has been out of state. YMMv but I have not had major issues beyond normal maintenance

Seems high for the mileage and being a DC. Extensive records are a plus. For comparison I recently bought my 2010 Rock Warrior crewmax with 163k for 13.5 private party.

    Alot of them
I would offer 10,500 and see what happens. If they say no, walk away and see if they call after a day or so.

I just paid $12,600 for my SR5 crewmax 4wd from a private party if that helps. Rust-free 177,000 miles, meticulously maintained.
