Have any of you taken advantage of the trade in and straight sale KBB values? Im curious to see if they are really giving the inflated prices.

example: My 2015 CM SR5 4X4 with 121k miles( bought for $31k w/68k miles in 2018) has a trade value of 26-28k, private is up to $30k, and the cash offer was just shy of $26k. Much higher than it was before covid when I was truly considering replacing my rig.

Even with 294,000 miles trade-in is $1,000 more than what I paid 3 years ago, and private party value is double what I paid.

Dealers here in my area will not offer more than the lower end of kbb. My 13 trade in value on kbb was 16-17k, but 2 dealers will not offer more than 12K. I told them they weren't getting my truck.

I typically get a different vehicle every 2-3 years. In my experience no matter what the condition is I am typically offered no better than "Fair" value on my trades from multiple sources.

I was honestly just thinking about selling it to the dealers that said they would just pay me $26k. I hate messing with dealers but really considering just dumping the tundra. love the truck but kinda bored with it. If i wouldnt have just spent about 2k over the past 12 months on all the big maint (all fluids, serp belt, plugs) plus new drilled/slotted rotors and pads, I would have already done it.

dealerships arent gonna give u top end of kbb values because they know prices will drop again eventually and theyre gonna try to lessen the hit when that happens.

You probably would have dumped the Tundra and bought a Ford and you would have gotten the pair of shoes that comes with it....lol.
