05 tundra limited TRD 4WD/ 21 nightshade 2WD

So just bought this 2018. Love the truck. I've had all brands.Usually I buy new every 2 years or so. (Not any longer as per my better half)But my 05 tundra I keep. Now back to the 18 model. It has 22k miles and it is howling from the pinion or 3rd member not sure. Any ideas why? And is it a common issue???
