2011 Tundra 5.7 DC with tow package but no 4.1 gears

Hello,

I am looking at a 2011 Tundra SR5 Cold Weather package (According to TIS), it has the tow mirrors, tow/haul button and factory hitch but does not have 4.3 gears listed nor the "tow" package on the Toyota Owners site once the VIN is entered.

How could this be? The truck is lifted 6in with the Pro Comp Stage 2 kit so I would install gears anyway but I wanted to figure out this discrepancy before I made an offer.

I may have answered my own question here.
I hovered over to SR5 on TIS and it shows that this package is upgraded to 4.3 gears....

Although... It does not have the "SR5" badge.

Now the question is if it actually has a trans cooler (it has transmission temp gauge)

 

Trans cooler is a pretty easy visual inspection go/no go.

Odd because some other VINs I pulled had "TOW package" under the standard equipment and mentioned the 4.3...


The 2011 Brochure I found mentions 4.3 only under the TOW PACKAGE on Page 25.

If it has the tow package, 5.7L has 4.3 gears, 4.6L has 4.1 gears. No tow package, it probably has 3.9 gears. If your truck has the external oil cooler, it will be in the top of the AC condenser. You'll see the fluid hoses coming through on the passenger side of the radiator and with several turns leading to the top of the AC condenser.

5.7 comes with the 4.1 gears as standard

5.7 SR5 Package bumps up to 4.3

The information delivery is pretty bad with the brochure in that link...and I am pretty sure at least 30 people received that document for proof reading before it was released.

I just got off the phone with Toyota HQ and they confirmed it comes with all the Towing stuff + 4.3 gears.
I'm buying the truck tomorrow.
