I did the exact same thing as Rica. Got the fogs and the OnX6+ 30-inch Baja Designs Light Bar. Tied the fogs into the factory switch. Waiting on some spade connectors because I had to cut the harness off to get the wire through the firewall but I will post up pics after I am done this weekend.

 

Just got my mrds in today and put it on. I have a 42 inch nilight bar for the center.. but the mounts are too tall, so ordering some.

Still waiting on brackets. Gotta figure out what to do about the trucks stock skid plate. And if I want to mount the license plate to the skidplate or not (is that California legal having it there?)

 

I never mounted my license plate yet I just keep it inside the truck just think case I do get pulled over I would just tell him it fell off lol

 

I may do that lol. I can't wait to get the light brackets brackets and I ordered the diode dynamics ss3 sae fogs .

 

Great thread - thanks for all the pics and information guys. I finally had my backordered nfab MRDS bumper delivered last week and I went straight to my body shop to get it paint matched "Attitude Black". Also had the body shop install the RC 42" Curved LED Lightbar. I also paint matched the skid plate, really pleased with the outcome.

 

Wow looks Soo badass shizzonline. I mounted my 42inch nilight .

 

Save more pennies and get the RCI. Super easy install.

Hey man, do you happen to have any other pics from side or any at all?...I have a 2020 Platinum in MGM and love this bumper...I’m actually thinking about pulling the trigger and then having it painted MGM to match truck...thanks in advance!

Also this 42 inch nilight from Amazon had moisture after the first wash... i took it apart (tedious to do cuz of all the bolts) and resealed it but still got moisture today. Any suggestions on a 42 that wont break the bank?

I still want to do the rci skid plate. Was hoping they would have a summer sale.

 

Is anyone running the RSP on a 2nd generation Tundra?

 

Go with Rough Country 40" curved LED light bar. I would be patient with it and wait till they're on a deal. I got mine for like $240 but well built top quality. Zero moisture from rain + car wash

Nonetheless, truck is looking great man. What are your lift specs? and are those 35s on 20x10s?

 

thanks for the suggestion! Its not much, 2inch level spacer up front, vtx outlaws 18x9 with 1.25 spacer. 275/70r18 falken wildpeak. Wish i had gone bigger with the tires now lol

 

Reading through this thread, and seeing people that want to order and install this bumper, and seeing some have issues, I have a few suggestions...

First suggestion would be to figure out what lighting you want on the bumper, and install it before mounting the bumper to your truck. Much easier to deal with and modify/fabricate mounts for your lights if they are too high/low. you can then get your wiring in order and splice in some plugs for easy removal/replacement. Although it makes the bumper slightly heavier, I was able to install the bumper with a ton of light without help.

When installing the skid plate, the bolts for the licence plate should go in first, but not tight, as you need some wiggle room for the outside (upper) skid plate mounts. The bottom bolts should be last.
Best to install/uninstall the skid plate before mounting the entire bumper to get an idea of how you you plan to install it after the bumper is mounted.
Do yourself a favor and install riv-nuts (or something similar) for the top 4 bolts, keep in mind the diameter for the holes are different in the middle than on the outside. This will make changing replacing lights easier if you happen to have one burn out, or get damaged.

If yo have front parking sensors, and want to keep them, the mesh corner covers can be modified to retain the sensors, and install fogs.

Overall I'm happy with my MRDS, although the mounting method for lights in the corners don't have the modular rails like you may see on some of N-FABs videos.

 

Dropped the stock skidplate and tossed TRD sway on.

 

What is the bolt size for the rivnut/clip nuts? I have my bumper coming in this week and would like to have these on hand when I do my install.

 

3/8-16 bolts. I bought 1-1/2" inch bolts to replace the factory ones. The rivnut for that size bolt will work in the bumper. Be sure to get/use the rivnut installation tool.

 

Hey guys!...just installed my MRDS on my 2020 Platinum and loving it!...but def wanna add rivnuts for the skid plate, that’s a pain in the a$$ to work with plate and light configuration since you have to hold the nut on back of plate to install...anyone know what size rivnut is needed???...thanks in advance!...and @shakezoola do you have anymore pics of your truck from standing back a little so I can see whole bumper?...maybe from straight on and then from an angle?...I have one set of Rigids in side areas but thinking of adding a second like you have, and want to use outside part of mesh as well...thanks in advance!!

 

Here are some pics I took a few minutes ago. If you look closely, you can see there is another light behind the mesh that is wired to the factory fog light switch.

 

Huge pain for sure but after installing $1600.00 in Baja Designs lights, I strapped an open ended wrench onto a breaker bar and fed it from underneath to hold the nut in place to tighten the impossible to reach ones. I park my truck at trailheads a few nights sometimes when backpacking. Ninety nine percent of outdoor folks are honest but for that one percent, it would take some special tools or ingenuity to get the skid plate off to get to the bolts holding the baja lights on.

My BD fogs are wired to the factory switch.The OnX6+ 30" ARCED light bar is insane.

 

Ok great, thanks @shakezoola!...this is what I have set up so far, just deciding on if I wanna add that 2nd set of pods!...and yea absolutely @Swatdude1, I’m installing the rivnuts just to make it easier but you’re right about that 1%...I live in a great neighborhood but all it takes is one bad apple to spoil the bunch

 

Has anybody mounted the factory 2019 TRD Pro Rigid Industries Fog lights to an aftermarket bumper? I haven't pulled the stock fogs out to see what kind of mounting brackets these come with. Also just ordered the MRDS bumper! will post pics when installed! Any help is appreciated.

Any rear bumpers that match the mrds? Im not liking the nfab rear bumper (it looks too busy)...
If anything, im thinking the ss built rear bumper with the integrated tow hitch.

 

Does anyone on here have a winch on their MRDS?

 

I haven't seen anyone mod their MRDS to install a winch. They are not designed for them, so it would take some good designing and fabrication to make it happen.

 

Got the install videos done, running 4 Rigid Radiance Pods, 42” Nilight Bar, modified and painted the side pieces, installed factory parking sensors, custom switches, and installed rivnuts for the skid plate...all in all, not a bad project!
