Hi Everyone, sitting around a drive thru the other day and my 4hi and 4low started flashing, e brake light is on, and, traction control, check engine light also. My Speedo stopped working, and also my gas gauge fluctuates around corners constantly. I have to stick a key in and manually release the neutral stop switch or else I cannot get the truck out of park.

I hooked it to a code reader and it came in as VSS (vehicle speed sensor). I called Toyota for the part and they said there are two sensors in the transmission with different part numbers. They also said they had never sold this part and it’s a working problem.

Has anyone had this happen? Any suggestions? Poor truck lol

Nobody has experienced this?? Could it be a wheel speed sensor? I noticed I have an axle seal leaking so maybe the sensor is dirty?

My 4hi and 4lo blink randomly after startup since I pulled the truck new off the lot and no one can tell me what it is. 2.5 years later it’s still doing it but only in the morning when it’s a bit more humid out. Super annoying but it goes away.

I replaced the battery a couple of months ago, it’s showing proper voltage. Any other thoughts?
