I've read pages and pages of posts and can't find an answer, sorry if this is redundant.

I put a Bilstein 6112/5160 setup at max lift 2.5" in front. Time for wheels and tires. I've looked all over and can't find a clear answer...

I want to buy new tires and wheels. Wheels most likely will be 18", we'll see. I'd like tires that fill the well nicely, however, I don't want them sticking too far out from the fender. I honestly have no clue what offset to get, what size tire, etc.

Is there a way to know the max size combo of tire, wheel, offset, width, etc. that WILL NOT stick out past the fender?

Not sure what gen truck you got, but my guess would be like OEM and go with a +60. I'm sure some of the other savants on this thread will have a much better detailed answer for you.

18" with +18 offset and 12.5" wide: they slightly stick out past the fender

If you don't want to stick out at all, you have to go with +50 to +60 on a max width of 9" wheel. 8" width might be better.

If you want to stay with a OEM alloy wheel, you can get away with a 285/75R-18. That's equal to a 35x11.50. Will need some mudflap mods etc, but will stay completely inside the fenders. If you look at my build thread, most pics are with the 285, but some have been updated to the 37's I have on now. Hope this helps, and I know one of the most popular sizes on here is 295/70-18. Good luck with all.

Here's a very basic offset calculator. Just enter your current and new width and offset and it'll tell you how much more it'll stick out. Remember 25.4mm = 1 inch.

35x12.50x18 on a 9" wide whee with +18 offset. If you went with a +25 offset you would basically be level with the fenders.

I'm pretty stupid with this offset stuff. I have the TRD OEM wheels, and I wanted to throw on the 1.25 spidertrax adapters. What offset would that be sitting at?

Just do the good ol math. 25.44 x 1.25 = total mm. Subtract that from your starting point of 60mm. Approx 28mm offset.

Thanks brotha. I had never even bothered to figure out what the stock offset of the TRD wheels are...

No worries Zac. Didn't mean to come off like an ass. Like Joon said earlier, just remember 1"=25.44mm, and you can get just about any idea of what offset you will be looking at. Another thing, hold a straight edge against your tire or fender and that gives you a good reference point.

For the most popular width (9 inches), it seems 30-35 mm seems to be most rubbing-free. Higher offset you may rub some suspension components if you go with wide tires. Lower offset may cause rubbing at the body mount. I've seen some guys with 35 inch tires with Bilstein 5100 and 30 mm offset wheels as I remember.

Also if you do not wish to have your tires stick out too far, stay in 30-35 mm range. My 18 mm offset wheels make the tires to poke out quite a bit. My tires are roughly even with Bushwacker pocket style fender flares.

What @chphilo said...typically somewhere in the +30 range will keep you even with the fenders. IMO, sticking out just a little does look better though; sure, you're truck gets a little dirtier, but it's a more aggressive stance that looks great. I'm on a +18, so no need to post another picture (see @jberry813 above). A happy middle ground would be a +25 offset on a 9" wheel

Thanks for all the feedback. Maybe I'll put flares on...hadn't really thought of it until now.

I was doing research for the exact same thing...wheels and tires but for a 20" wheel. I was thinking of doing a +25 OS, but yours looks almost exactly what I envision in my head. So it looks like I need to do something more like a 18-20 positive offset.

And the fact that you have a 35" wheel! I was thinking of doing a 305/55/20, which should be somewhere in the vicinity of a 33x12x20. Did you have to worry about any trimming or anything?

Whatever you getting, buy some OEM fender flares to tone it down. See my pics below.

Nothing you cant fix with a cutoff wheel.
Trim an inch off the skid plate, remove the front mudflaps, remove the front lower plastic apron, and do a cab mount chop.
