Yeah I’d keep making them and do the disclaimer in your favor. You’ll know if you did something wrong and correct it. Not sure about PayPal and how that will go for you as they are a company of nutters that favor/support other nutters. You might take a hit on the little bitch complaint, but do not let it stop you.

Good advice. I think I will do just that. The disclaimer I made is defintely in my 'favor' but everyone has to understand, I am not Amazon. I do make some money these But it does take time and now I can say, experience. Final ruling, the doors will stay open! PM if you are interested!

 

Just for future possibilities, if I supply new OEM housings you’ll do it eh? I’m too scared to rip open my headlights (and the women in my life won’t let me use their ovens to do so) I have the one housing sitting in a box just because the bulb exploded and ruined the optics clarity, but I’m sure it’s cleanable when opened up...

I suppose I could but I haven't messed with the OE housings. It might not be cost effective though with shipping x2 though.

This week has been a bit hectic but more orders going out on Monday! Pretty much all caught up. I appreciate everyone’s patience and business!

 

Glad to hear this worked out in your favor. I'll tell you from oodles of personal experience:

You're lucky. PayPal and eBay side with the buyer the majority of the time, all the buyer needs to do is pitch any case, even if it's a full-on fabrication. They often don't ask for sufficient proof, and always trust the word of the buyer over the seller.

After getting burned on this too many times, I no longer accept PayPal. Despite my 18 years selling on eBay and 100% feedback through the entire 18 years, they still side with the seller. I'm mostly selling vintage bike parts and electronics, typically used, so there's a lot of room for subjective opinions about the condition. I always under-state the condition and charge 10%+ less than what it's actually worth, and still had people coming back, "this is garbage!" Ugh.

Anyway, my advice is to use Venmo. It's my main preference these days. There are no fees, it's easy to setup, and transferring to your account is simple. PayPal, I've been trying for 3 years to re-setup the link to my USAA account and they won't allow me to do it. It's almost like they've blacklisted USAA from being linked? Venmo lets me transfer to bank for free, no issues, and fast.

Screw PayPal.

 

BTW @SouthPaw I meant to ask - H1 and H4 use the same power connector, right? So if someone wanted to hit you up for aftermarket-stock DRL projectors, it'd basically be a plug-and-play affair, except you'd need an HID kit? Or maybe an LED kit?

I have to agree. As a buyer, it offers a HUGE blanket of protection; as a seller, you can be screwed even if you do everything 100%. I always opted to use PayPal because I wanted buyers to feel secure about sending a random person money and hope that they get what they paid for. Hell, if someone asks me to send it as F/F, I am skeptical. I have personally only had to file two claims on paypal and both were closed in my favor. One was a fake product and the other a seller shipped me a broken product that he tried to glue back together. It really pissed me off that PayPal immediately debited my account before even investigating it. It also took them over a month to finally say to they wanted him to return the lights and then would issue him a credit. Even after that, he had a week to respond to them (which he did not, thus closing in my favor). Otherwise, once he provided them a tracking number and it showed delivered, it would have been closed in his favor.

I think I have earned enough of a reputation around here and I hope I have done right by everyone who has purchased my lights. I am just at the point where I am only able to do this in my spare time on the weekends and I can't absorb a hit like that. PayPal also dinged me both ways when they charge 3% to send me money and another 3% to transfer it to my bank account. Venmo will now be the preferred method of payment lol.

 

They are different style of connectors but I provide an adapter to make it plug and play, including the adapter for the high beams on the projector.

Yeah, see, that's my beef. At this point any time I'm selling something, just like the items I have in the Marketplace - Other area of Tundras.com, I'm straight up about it. I prefer Venmo. If you want to use PayPal, that's fine, either send it Friends & Family, or you add 3.4% to cover their merchant fees.

If you believe there's some reason to not trust me or you believe I have a crappy reputation - which I can prove otherwise, I'm on other automotive forums and have great feedback elsewhere - therefore you believe you need the added protection, then pay the fee and consider that insurance.

People need to look at it from the seller's POV. When we sell things and accept PayPal as a business entity, we open ourselves up to fraud and risk. Most of us aren't big businesses, we can't afford risk. Most of what I sell is either leftovers, bad buys, or parts related to my hobbies. Stuff like vintage audio, car audio, automotive, garden and gun, vintage cycling. Usually I'm selling at a loss or barely making enough to roll back into my hobby funds.

I'm always surprised by people's attitude when buying on a forum. I mean, I get it, I don't send my $$$ to just anyone but if someone is established at a forum you can usually read back through their posts and figure out their personality or reputation. If I were as sketch as my decades-old nickname suggested, I probably wouldn't be offering up the help and advice seen out of me since I finally went from lurker to member here.

You do you. At the end of the day it's your $$, your talent, your time, and you deserve to be safe. Oh, and I don't mess with Facebook. Besides the steady source of propaganda, too many people I found on there while selling were complete a-holes and-or what many like to call "choosing beggars". Don't need that in my life!

Just wanted to give everyone an update. I have been pretty spotty on the forums lately and wanted to clear the air. I work in the energy industry and if you know anything about it, it has been in the dumpster this year. Things started to level out some but they are still not great. I have been working a ton of hours and it obviously has delayed response time as well as new orders. Unfortunately at this time, I can't accept any new orders until I get my day job sorted out. I apologize in advance but I will never be the type of person to take on something that I cannot complete in a timely manner. I have several PM's that I have purposely left unread so when I do resume, I can contact them.

 

Stoked to be one of the recent recipients of some lights for my Tundra project. Took little while to install them but I couldnt be happier. The lights are beautiful, the transaction was smooth, and any questions I had were answered quickly.

When he is back up and running, anyone considering this Mod should think twice before even dealing with the retro yourself.

Sorry for cheesy driveway shot, between Monstaliner, lift, and all the other maintenance it hasnt moved much lately. Even here though the lights look sweet. Cant wait to dump that OEM bumper and bring the whole thing together.

Hello 2Cal welcome. I’m not on the reservation, but have Little Big Bear in my blood. Hope you understand when I make Indian jokes. I’ve been known to send smoke signals to a few members here on occasion.

Fun Factoid: Navajo Tribesmen were used as Radio Signalers during WWII. The language was foreign to the Japanese and was never broken by them.

 

As a former paramedic who worked out of Flag, and sometimes on the rez, I think having as much light as possible is a great idea. I've seen many car vs car/elk/cow/burro/RV/pedestrian that ended really badly out there. That said, I've got a set of SouthPaw's retros and I love them. Back in the day when I was running across the rez, through Baja, etc I also had 3 x Hella 4000s which were clutch. Cant have too much light throw when the speeds are that high!

 

This is the best part of bi-xenon and bi-led projectors. The cutoff shield maintains light down low and out of oncoming drivers' eyes when other cars at coming at you but once you are free and clear of other vehicles, bam!, the shield drops and lets all the light out. Noice!
