    Hey all,

2012 toyota tundra rock warrior with tow package-

Tried using the search function with no luck. But I'm interested in throwing some air bags on my rock warrior for increased towing stability(as well as big brakes and weight distro hitch and new tires). Just don't know where to start and what would be recommended. Can most systems be manually inflated? Would it be advisable to invest in an onboard compressor?

Short story, my wife works in telecom and wind mill tech. We are putting the house up on market tomorrow and we will be full time rv'ing with my 3 year old for a few years. Tried convincing her to upscale the truck. She loves it and so do I. So I'm aiming to fix up the tundra to tow a reasonably sized Travel Trailer. Nothing crazy, I know the trucks limitations.

I have my CDL in Washington state, I'm adapt to driving big rigs and box trucks. But the half-ton towing game is daunting. Most of the TTs I've been eyeing are under 7000 UVW.

Thanks for sticking it out for thr long winded story. Anyone have any advice on how to pursue?

I’m in the same boat. Just bought a 2015 Jayco Jayflight (29’ overall, 7500ish loaded). 2010 Rock Warrior. I bought Firestone Ride Rite air bags, Air Lift gen 2 EZ compressor, Bilstein 5100s top setting, new UCAs and LCAs, Tekonsha P3 brake controller and new rotors/pads. Haven’t mounted everything yet though!

What rotor and pad kit did you end up going with?

I've used Firestone Ride Rites airbags. These are double convoluted and gives more flex for a comfy ride. The other brand is single convoluted and not much give there and can be harsh on some poor road conditions. They can be manually inflated or you can get the compressor kit from Ride Rite. if you decide to go with manual inflation, you can mount the inflation valves on one side of the truck for ease and convenience. There are some high volume portable air compressors that you can buy or you can just buy a regular air compressor. Right now, my bags are not installed.

You can have the Firestone air bags fill with schrader valves, or they have their own on board compresser or any other compresser. I have the an on board compressor but also have schrader valves in case the compressor shits the bed on a trip.

Thanks for the responses. I'll probably end up going with the firestones. Woof, I looked into the OEM big brake set. Nice Toyota OEM price point. Though I'm sure they are worth it.
