I was involved in a t-bone collision because someone ran a red light. Luckily I had just left a 50th wedding anniversary celebration at Church and was not going very fast. But the accident fractured my neck and did about $5,800 worth of body damage to my 05 Tundra, Double Cab, 4.7 8-cyl engine. Truck. My Tundra now has 227,000 miles with no major engine repairs. So I am blessed!

When the Shop repaired the body of my truck, most of the damage was on the passenger side. That caused the shop to have to replace the Passenger side headlight and not the Driver side. As time has continued to impact me and my truck, the driver side headlight has become almost clouded to the point that the light is different and I want to have the headlight effective on both sides of the vehicle. The one that was replaced by the repair shop looks nice and bright and the Drivers side is dull and weak. How do I go about getting a replacement without having to spend my monthly retirement check for a new headlight? What do I look for in a new headlight? From whom do I want to buy a headlight, Auto-Zone, Advance Auto, O'riley Auto, or the local Toyota Dealer. I would appreciate anyone's assistance on this issue. Thanks in advance for your consideration of my questions.

My O'Reilly's had the 3M headlight restore kit on sale for 50% off today, so I gave it a try for about $14 with tax. With a drill, I used the provided sandpapers and UV resistant top coat. It looks really good. We'll see how it stands up to time.

    Damn, where to start...

First, congrats on the 50th wedding anniversary. Very rare, very impressive.

Second, a fractured neck and you are still up and kicking - good for you. Glad you are ok, that is the most important thing.

Third, I'm surprised insurance didn't total your truck with $5800 of damage too it. Sounds like it has been a good truck for you, so glad you get to keep it.

In regard to the headlight, if it were me I would likely go OEM from a dealer - I am picky that way. @Roman is a respected member of this forum, and is a Toyota parts guru with Toyota of Cool Springs - he has very good prices. Maybe he will chime in here. Also, @SouthPaw (another respected member here) has an impressive headlight retrofit product he offers on here, and I suspect he has a good source for new headlights. Maybe he will chime in here as well.

Keep us posted on the recoveries (yours and your truck's...)

You’ll have a hard time finding just one lamp. You can buy a set of aftermarkets. These are for 05 double cabs.
