Considering adding some small forward facing LED lights underneath my side mirrors. This may be a silly question but I thought it was a cool idea. Can I tap into the electrical for the defrost and turn signal on the mirrors in order to get power to a light underneath the mirror. I was thinking that I could choose either defrost or turn signal or both to have those lights flash with the turn signal and be continuously on with the defrost. I'd assume I'd have to change the fuse to a higher load depending on the light that I choose. Advice is welcome please. Thank you!

2002 Tundra here. I tapped into the front turn signals wires with quick self tappers and ran the new wires from each front corner and fished them through the rubber firewall grommets at each corner. Continued the wire down to the footwell and thats where I spliced the new wires run from the mirrors. Had to remove the mirrors to make it all happen there with that assy. The door panel needed to be removed as well to fish the wires from mirrors through the door jamb rubber with the other OEM wire harness.

Was about 10 hours of work total (lots of fish time) with about $20 in LED light and wire. Stoked I did it as its very nice especially at night. Makes for a modern type safety feature. Broke the job up into 3 phases. Tap the corners (2hours). Fish Firewall (2hrs). Final day was fit and finish with door panels off and mirror removed (6hrs).

My setup faces the side and rear angles as our 1stGens have pretty noticeable front corner signals.
