Firestone Ride-Rite Not Working

At some point in the past few weeks my Ride Rite system stopped working. I have the model with an onboad compressor and an air port in the rear bumper. I tried to air up my tires and I got nothing - no air. I did have to chance batteries about 6 weeks ago but I'm pretty sure I've used it since then. I have noticed that the pressures indicated on the wireless remote were odd. I typically each side at about 7psi for day-to-day. I was doing some off roading and noticed that the pressures were up in the mid twenties (not set by me and also not the same - nothing I would ever do) and pulled them back to about 6psi and the system let the air out as it was supposed to.

The compressor is not firing at all so possibly an issue there. I've traced the power line from the compressor to the tie to the battery and it looks normal - it was not messed with then I changed the battery.

I've searched and cannot find anything about a fuse or reset for the ECU. Any pointers?

Did you check your ground? Put a meter tester on the circuit and see if you have current. You should have a fuse on anything running directly to the battery. If you don’t you may have gotten a surge and blown the ecu on the compressor or your regulator module.

 

It was a fuse, which was neatly hidden and one of I think 15 fuses/relays for this unit! But, it's back working and papa is happy.

 

Glad that you got it figured out and bonus points for it being a super easy fix...... after finding it of course!
