Can Anyone ID These Ports

I'm trying to install an

$280 Alpine ILX-W650 7" Double DIN Touchscreen Digital Multimedia Receiver with Bluetooth, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto

Alpine ILX-W650 head unit and there are no connectors on my Crux 61N harness for the connectors that go in these ports. I'm guessing the one on the right is SXM and the left may be for the amp because I'm getting hollow sound when the head unit is powered on. I have a 2014 non-JBL, but I do have an amp under the passenger seat. I don't want to cut any wires (they have harness connectors at the end) before I know exactly what those connectors are. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

 

The one on top in your pic is the Sat Antenna Connector for Sirrius/XM Radio and it would be on the bottom in the dash.
That small box it plugs into is the Sat Tuner for the main Head Unit which is the big box.

The other one on the Factory Head Unit is also for a Sat Antenna that is simply for all bizarre reasons to me just to set the clock!?

So if installing a different radio you will likely not need the Clock one but obviously will need a Sat one if using Sat Radio.

 

Thanks for the response. That lets me check a couple of troubleshooting items off the list. I'll have to go back to the drawing board on the amplifier issue and figure something else out.

 

My 18 sets the clock automatically. I thought it was from the gps/nav. Does the one in the pic have nav? Maybe it has something to do with that.

It does have nav. If it is for nav, I won't need it because I'm installing an aftermarket unit that will use screen mirroring through android auto.

Do you mean Mirror the Nav through Android?
If the Head Unit has Nav built-in then it will also take the Sat Nav antenna for that so why not plug it in too?
They usually come with an antenna also for the Nav of the radio has it but using the built-in Nav Antenna that the in question jack had plugged in would be better I would think?

 

I didn't word it in the best way. I'm replacing the OEM head unit, which has nav with an

Alpine ILX-W650, which doesn't have built-in nav, but it does have android auto. So, there isn't a connector for a nav plug-in. I've read some other threads and realize I need to purchase a SXM tuner adapter to get the XM to work.

Yes. I was worried one of those connectors had something to do with the amp because when I plugged everything else in, the speakers were underpowered. I wanted to make sure those plugs had nothing to do with the amp. And now that I know they don't, I can try some other things to get the amp working.

 

What is happening is that the HU powers all the dash speakers and the amp under the passenger seat powers the door speakers. The new HU has more power than the factory HU and the majority of the sound now is coming from the dash. The amp under the passenger seat only puts out about 13 (give or take) watts and the new HU is putting out more.

I just did the same thing and had to figure all of that out for myself. In the end, I bit the bullet and adding a 5 channel with sub and all new speakers in the entire truck. Totally happy with the sound quality now.

 

You're a lifesaver. I'm a noob when it comes to car audio. I'm basically trying to figure this out through trial and error and I'm pretty sure you just saved me countless hours. I've read a lot of audio threads through this forum and knew the factory speakers/amp were crap. I was being cheap though and tried to save a few bucks. Like you said, I'm just gonna bite the bullet and replace it all. No use in putting lipstick on a pig. Thanks again!

There is a ton of info here and we rely on each other to tell others of our experiences and lend a hand when and where we can. I'm definitely not an audio expert by any means but I ran into that same issue less than a month ago.
Before you buy anything, email @james@tech12volts and get a price on a full install amp kit. He will do a complete plug and play that will not make you hack your harness. In addition, he is the most honest, knowledgeable, audio source I have ever worked with.
