Yup. It drags, but this time it was a little wet in the yard so it spun once the truck got in. Can't go fwd, can't go back. The wrecker came and said ”i need a bigger truck” and left.

 

Its one of them Chinese finger puzzles, but expensive!

Only problem was it rained last night so it was a bit damp right where the rear wheels were. We've had it in and out of that yard multiple times, just not in the wet I guess...

Yup, that was my first idea.

The wrecker showed up and had to pick the trailer up. He was perpendicular to the trailer and winched it up. It picked up the outside wheel on his gigantic international. Good times.

 

Sounds like someone else could've had a 'Monday' moment today!

@Lil Steve. Made some crude measurements this morning. for idea one I would need around 12.5 feet of light strips.

For idea 2 I would need around 17.3 feet of light strips.

Gonna be lit. Eventually.

 

Well corolla 2.0 is mine. $500 and it needs an engine.
And a door. But meh it’s cheap enough. Ha brand new Yokohama tires too!

 

Either one will be pretty unique and bright as hell. But bright is good when you need to see what you're doing.

Hmm I'll compare prices to another roll of the strips I already have.

Contemplating using jbwelb in spots along with, or instead of the 3M. I have used JB weld steel stick in the past in the engine bay. Worked out great because when it was time to remove it I got a flat blade screw driver, and a hammer. Tapped it one good time at a sharp angle, and it popped right off. Otherwise it was stuck on tight.

Went out to the truck, and turned her over. Let her warm up before kicking on the AC.

Pressed the AC button, and my Hot/cold knob, and ring got brighter.

Sounds like a loose socket? Or the bulb has come loose in the socket?

Wondering if moving the latches like this one that hold the doors on would remove some door rattles???
Most of the rattling seems to be associated with the plastic panels, but maybe pulling the whole door in a bit would help.

 

Same tactic was used with the 90s era C1500 pickups, moving the door strike up or moving the latch mechanism down, or both. The doors were so damn heavy the hinge pins would bend and/or bushings would work their way out. Engineering fail, and replacing the pins and bushings was a pain.

Usually what ends up happening is, after moving the strike up and inward or moving the latch down and outward, the door closure geometry would change and it would effectively push up the door, stressing the hinge pins and bushings, wearing them out even faster.

Yes, there is a small bit of play there, and adjustments to be made. Body shops do it all the time. The above is just to warn you, if the same is possible in 00-06 Tundras, opt for making several small 1mm-ish adjustments to dial it in versus a large adjustment that's overkill and effs up something else.

I wouldn't be afraid to mess with them, but I would check the FSM to see if door replacement or hinge/strike adjustment is covered in there.

We're lucky the doors are relatively light in this truck. I haven't read a lot of cases of sagging doors, which is a real problem for other competitors of the era!

 

I have added a few pounds to each door with the mass loaded vinyl inserts to block external noise. I think I still will hold off.

 

Adjusting the Nader pin is pretty simple. Maybe tape outline of the sides before moving it? I’ve moved a few to line up the door better with success. If you can’t get it any better than just move it back. They are typically just 2 T40 screws or something.
