I normally think the DCs are out of proportion, they usually look too stretched, but with your bumpers and chop job and tires/stance it looks way better.

More roadside assistance tonight for some strangers whose alternator went out (died immediately after jumping). They didn't have their tow hook and didn't even know what that was, so I had to wrap my recovery strap around their SUV's front subframe to pull them to the nearby auto parts store for when they open in the morning. Dashcam footage wasn't all that interesting, I do need to get my emergency strobe lights wired in though.

tow strap many times and recommend everyone carry one like it! Could get you or someone else out of a tricky situation.

I'm surprised how many people know zilch about this, don't care to learn, don't do any "pre-flight checks" like making sure they have a spare tire, and then get helplessly distressed when they become stranded.

I used either Power Stop or Stop Tech. Can’t remember. I tried going through Summit Racing, but their customer rep on the phone sold me the ones from a BMW so I cancelled the order the next morning once I looked it up. Couldn’t find anything that confirmed fitment on their site.

Ended up using Big Gurrl for the new order and the price was way better. The BMW ones came in anyways even though I cancelled and they looked just like the Big Gurrl ones from above. Sold the BMW ones.

There should be 3 lines/hoses. Two shorts and one long.

How many weeks was the wait for the rear bumper? He did my front in around 8.

 

Finally did my rear diff breather mod. Went to work and found out a Tacoma guy did the same mod this weekend too! He mustve heard me talking about it recently, haha

 

I would add some trim lock with a bulb seal to your cut rear fender. It'll clean up the cut a little bit and fill in the gaps so it doesn't look so drastic. I did something similar to my 4Runner to cover up my mistake and now I don't even notice it anymore and it actually gives it a clean look.

Well my truck SHOULD be finished this week with the gear/locker install. The truck was fogged for exhaust leaks and they were only showing at the header flange so that's some good news.

Hopefully, without too much trouble, they can fix that up and I can get my truck back. Really want to hit up some off-roading soon!

 

12 weeks

 

So I got those fog light male adapters that were recommended here. I wired them up to my lights and plugged them into the fog lights adapters. I turned on my headlights but they didnt turn on. I used the hi beams and low beams. Is there something Im missing?

 

My schedule is getting filled up with the daily grind now but I did get around to fluid filming my new suspension, probably will go with a more durable option in the future when I attack the whole underbody.

Also, still chasing down creaks and rattles which had me replace the plastic clips in the door panels and tighten up the light in the door panel with some foam. That little piece has a bit of movement.

Began the first step in the 4wd conversion by replacing my bezel with one a junk yard had for super cheap. I had to change over the motherboard from my old one to this one so the air bag on/off light would still apply. It was quick and easy. I also replaced the bulbs inside the new one with LEDs.

I also finally got around to the weeping transmission pan gasket. It bugged me knowing it was there, so I had to do something about it.

I also replaced the strainer and cleaned/readjusted the magnets within the pan too. I truly do hate these "sealed for life" transmissions.

Adding more questions to the "mystery."

Do you have LED headlights? If so, you need load resistors in line with the headlights.

 

It could also be polar if they're LED. I know the ones I have were and I had to go back and fix it, but I didn't need a resistor.

 

Got home, and pulled my HVAC bezel out. Investigated for bad wiring, or loose bulbs.

Found that the two pins for bulb sockets were loose on hot/cold backlight.

Bent the pins upward with a flatblade screwdriver. Yielding image below.


Marked bulb sockets with light blue paint pen for polarity indicators to make sure they went back the right way.

Importance of polarity with certain LED bulbs. If they aren't turned the right way they won't light.

Went ahead and did all of the bulbs since the bezel was out.

While HVAC bezel was off lubed up the cables for air knobs, and the gears.

 

Buddy those LED's should last forever. I can't imagine you will have to replace them again unless you just want to.

 

I didn't replace the LEDs this go round. I just have a vague memory of having to push the socket pins up before. Maybe when the leds were put in the first time? Just seems too soon for all that again to me.
