Hey guys, newbie here, first time truck owner.
I'm tired of asking Google and getting the run-around. Usually when I ask her something she directs me here to this site, so I figured.. what the hell why not join.
Besides the resonator and muffler, does the end of the tailpipe play a role in how your truck sounds and or perform? The end of my exhaust pipe is terrible shape I was going to take my angle grinder and chop it off and throw on an extension peice I picked up at AutoZone.
Nothing fancy, just a tube that reads tailpipe extension or some other crap I can't remember.
Thanks for your time, enjoy the rest of your evening.
God Bless America & your Tundra's

Not really. If it's a long enough and fat enough pipe it might be a slightly deeper sound.

If your tail piece is gnarly, then chances are your internals of the muffler are worn out and you may have pin holes in the side or top. Its all one piece.

Welcome from East TN! This site and community are great. You won't regret joining. Depends on how technical you want to get on your answer. I think you'd be fine doing what you are going to do and not see a difference. That far down on the exhaust system isn't an issue. If you want a fancy pants answer, then give Professor Keith @dirtydeeds a ring. He makes top quality exhaust systems for Tundras and knows these exhaust systems inside and out. He is great to talk to and will answer and and all of your Tundra exhaust questions.
