So I just bought a TRD PRO and I swore id leave it alone but what fun is that..
I’m looking into doing some overland type camping. I’ve seen some pretty cool RTT style rigs but they come with a pretty hefty price tag. I’m a welder and pretty much have an entire fab/machine shop at my disposal. I’m curious if anyone has made their own setup and what they look like.
Another issue I seem to be running into is I want to be able to use the tonneau cover that’s on my truck already. Use the truck box more as a “dry” storage while having the rack for the tent 12”-18” above the tonneau cover. Any one who’s done this, where did you anchor? Any thoughts? Is it possible?!

NONE! Lasted about a month, Firestone bags, Decked system, ARE CX HD, WeatherTech mats/rainguards, TRD RSB...

Swore I'd leave it alone too and have for 2 weeks I've owned it. Coming from a Taco with an RTT on top of a leer cap I loved it. Kept dogs in kennel and everything dry. I'm not sure you'll be able to achieve the bar system when running a tonneau cover. But if you're a welder anything's possible right? Good luck!

I have the same issue. Been asking around. Several people said they had to take cover off

I took some 14 ga sheet metal bent it 90 degrees, welded some bolts to it to mount rack. I mounted that to the bed rail system. Made my rack out of uni-strut. It comes on and off pretty easy, I still have use of the tonneau and I also have a ladder/lumber rack I bolt on when I need to. It’s not the prettiest but has held up well so far, and I didn’t have to drill any holes into truck hope this gives some ideas492960E4-EF78-4F6B-A8D0-2861BC6C0288.jpg82236D1B-B77F-458D-AFE5-1ED5D79619BC.jpg8A4820C8-880B-41A4-B65C-2A8D0775C1FB.jpg783C8B96-4E2B-4A78-A9FF-F4D2CF391988.jpgFF9F127D-885C-446F-AD23-B0B05DC10648.jpg
