I just installed 5100’s all around. When I swapped the back ones I compared the two. Everything seems to be the same. Length, pressure and release Is the dampening rate different? I put the 5100’s on because I put a 1” block in the back. Did I waste $300 bucks?

The 5100's are an improvement over standard SR5 type (non-TRD Bilstein) shocks, but the 5100's and the TRD 4600's are very similar.

It seems that even though they are the same size the valving is slightly different to help with added weight from bigger wheels and tires that typically comes with a lift.
But as far as length and travel and ride comfort they should be very similar.

To add to what Boerseun said, the OEM Bilstein shocks are valved differently from the 4600’s. There is a misconception that the factory ones are 4600’s but they are not.

Ok thanks for the info. Makes sense. I have an sr5 sport so the oem are sport tuned. Which I’m guessing are stiffer than the trd offroad. That’s why I was wondering if they would be the same as the 5100’s

Yes, the TRD shocks are not standard 4600's but they are based on that. TRD Sport and TRD Off Road are also valved slightly different. But in the end, I have test driven both the Sport and Off Road back to back and you will have to have a very sensitive ass to feel the difference between them. I think most of the difference that you feel is because of the tire size (sidewall height) of the Sport 20" and Off Road 18" wheels.
Likewise between standard 4600, TRD 4600 and 5100 there is really not that big a difference in how they are made and how they ride. But some people might have different experience - my ass is not that sensitive.

5100 is just an adjustable 4600. The TRD Sport bilsteins are a 4600 with ever so slightly higher dampening and rebound.
