Giving feedback on something a little different.....

I came into an 8 inch standard system with resonator in the Y pipe (won't bore everyone with details), and I had a tailpipe resonator laying around from a previous project.

Little background: I had an 8 inch system with tailpipe resonator on a previous Tundra. Loved the WOT sound. Little too deep in the low range. Didn't really shut off until about 65 mph on the highway - so I sold it and went back to stock on that truck before trading it in.

Fast forward to now. Tried the 8 inch with resonator in y pipe. Awesome sound, but never really shut off - way too deep in the low range, and droned between 60 to 70 mph on the highway. Not unexpected.

But I added the tailpipe resonator in conjunction with the y pipe resonator. This is about as close to a perfect exhaust as it gets for me. With both resonators, the 8 inch is a perfect blend of low and mid tones. With windows up, nice tempered throaty sound when on the throttle. Turns off at 60 mph on the highway. Never too deep in the low ranges, but just enough tone. Windows down sounds terrific.

I really like the throaty sound of a V-8 under acceleration, but can't stand highway drone or too much deep tone in the low ranges. Those two things are usually mutually exclusive for me - until now.
