Just installed bilstein 6112 on the front. Bilstein suggests having different preloads to account for the drivers side being heavier. That is what I did. Now I am getting advice that a better method is to use a shim on the drivers side and set the preloads the same amount.

    Thoughts?

On my double cab they were set two clips different but ended up being uneven, so I put both on the 7th clip and it was right on. What are your measurements from center hub to fender on each side?

I measured from the ground and they were within 1/4 inch or each other if not closer. I have 1/4 tank full of gas.

This is with #3 on the right and #1 on the left. My concern is having different preloads messing up ride characteristics.
