Please help me identify my lift

Hello all,

I'm admittedly new to lifts, but have done enough reading to know spacer lifts=bad. I bought my truck used and it already had a lift on it (from a dealer, never got to meet previous owner). When I bought it, I thought it seemed legit (Camburg UCAs made me think previous owner at least tried to not have it be messed up), but if I'm being totally honest, I didn't know for sure, I kind of just hoped anyone putting Kings on a truck would research enough to do it properly. I would like some help identifying what exactly I have on my truck so I know what to expect out of it in the future.

Things I do know:
I have King Shocks front and rear (not sure what size/kind), and I *think* 600# springs in front
I have Camburg UCAs
I believe I have about 3" of lift over a stock Tundra in the front (I measured ground to fender at 39.5" in the front and 39.75" in the rear. I have 285/55R20 tires. I understand stock Tundras have 255/70R18 and measure roughly 36.5" in the front)

That's about all I know for sure. I have no idea if a diff drop was installed, although from some reading on this site I've gathered it's probably not necessary for a 3" lift (or according to some people not at all ever on these trucks).

I have attached pics (if they are crappy and not helpful let me know and I'll try to take more). First is my rear shackle, no idea if this is aftermarket.

Second pic is the front attachment of rear leafs, this looks stock, is that correct?

3rd-5th pics are of the front end. Looks like a King coil over, I can't see any spacers (unless I don't know what I'm looking for at all...which is possible). The spindle seems stock looking?

Basically, I'm trying to not only find out what my stuff is exactly, but if it was done properly so that I know whether to expect to need to fix it later on.

Don't be afraid to insult my intelligence, you can assume I know almost nothing about this and that I just want to learn. Thanks!

 

Rear looks stock except for the shocks, which wouldn't provide lift. Cant tell if you have a block in the rear. The stock tundra is almost 3" higher in the rear so looks like you have a leveling kit essentially.(Front lift only).

 

Oh man you’re totally right. I misread a previous thread and thought a stock rear ride height was 36.75“ but they were actually saying the passenger front side was 36.75”. This makes a lot of sense now.

Does the front look like a properly done suspension lift vice a spacer lift?

 

Absolutely! Kings are amazing and the control arms are top notch. I wouldn't change a thing. Dont quote me but I thought kings were also able to be rebuilt, if so they should last forever.

 

That’s great news. Unfortunately I have no idea when they were installed or how roughly they were used so I don’t know how many miles they have on them. What is the best way to tell when they need to be rebuilt? Just if they start leaking or feeling stiff or mushy or something?

 

I'm not sure my friend. I would say if they are leaking for sure but other than that I have no idea about the kings. Id find out how much it is and if its not a whole lot just do it for the peace of mind. Sounded like you were up for spending some money on a new lift so im sure rebuilding them would be cheaper except the truck would have to be down until you got them back. Im sure there are plenty of threads on here about the subject. Good luck!

Yeah it's hard to tell if there is a block. If there is it's a small one. Aren't the stock ubolts black? I don't remember although I still have the ones that came off of my 13.

 

I’m not sure as I replace mine to install airbags.
