Stereo trouble

Have a 2016 tundra. Bought a Kenwood hu from crutchfield. Installed without issues. Played fine for 2 years then one day all speakers stopped working except for center dash speaker. Installed factory hu back and now the touch screen on factory hu doesnt work.

When you say the touchscreen doesnt work, is it turning on at least?

 

Yes it turns on but that is about it. Cant change stations or anything else

 

Is this JBL/ non JBL with NAv/ base model audio?

 

Sounds like HU is the problem if it won’t do any function besides turn on/off

 

You might try putting that Kenwood back in to see it it will allow you to change stations. Chasing electrical issues can be time consuming but best to have a logical plan of deduction.

Or pack rats behind the dash?? : )

If the only thing working is the center channel, they must have some kind of interface with the factory amp, this is why I asked to share what factory system did his truck came with? If he has the JBL and he installed the factory HU, the interface can cause the factory unit to lockup is on a bus with the amp.
