After going through 2 sets of the stock blue and yellow bilsteins I’ve learned my lesson on spacer lifts! It’s time to do this the right way. I’ve purchased spc UCA’s, moog’s lower control arms and greasable LCA cam bolts (factory cam bolt sleeves are seized and need to be cut out), SQHD’s body chop plate and am ordering 3” coach builder shackles. Now what I’m hung up on is coils overs and shocks. I was dead set on kings or fox (leaning towards kings) but after reading a lot on this forum I don’t know if kings are suited for the salty roads of Ohio. I have heard great things about Toytec’s aluma 2.5 series which should resist corrosion because it’s aluminum. Any suggestions on good coilovers that have good corrosion resistance? Things to keep in mind is my truck is a daily driver and I drive 50min one way to work on uneven bumpy 55mph country roads, some are dirt roads and will like to get into more serious off roading/mudding. Currently handing and comfort leave a lot to be desired. A tire fitment of “dirty sevens” is the goal with rock warrior’s +50 offset wheels and 1.25” spacers. (I know I’ll need regearing and possibly new front fenders.) I’ve learned so much from all you guys and it’s all really appreciated! I look forward to being more involved in the forums!

    Toytec Performance Aluma 3" Lift- Toytec rear shackle, Fuel Vector Wheels, Toyo Open Country C/T 295/70/18 Tires
    I'm curious what King and Fox coilovers are made out of? I went the Toytec Aluma route after talking with some folks about rot. I am hopeful they will stand up better to the salt then steel. I really like how they ride but I cannot compare it to Fox or King as I have no experience with them. I think value for the money is hard to beat Toytec. My brother in law ran the standard boss kit on his Tacoma well over 100k miles. That was enough to convince me ..

    Thanks for the input on the alumas! Does anyone know the compressed and extended lengths on the 2.5? I can’t seem to find them anywhere.

    Both are steel bodies with steel powder coated springs. If you really wanted a Fox or King, you could get them cerakoted... but that can be very pricey. Fox is actually moving towards having most of their OEM shocks with aluminum bodies.
