Just a heads up, I just noticed this in the reviews.

With the 90° elbow I should be able to make an adapter. For $9 bucks? It's worth a shot.

All good. To further explain my idea, and make sure no one else skims...

Here are some hand drawn diagrams. I suck with MS paint, and the TouchPad on the laptop so I opted for ole skoo pen, and papyrus.

You guys with the windshield sprayers are expecting too much. My truck doesn't even have sprayers anymore, the reservoir has been removed for years.

if your trucks were black they'd be too fast for shit to stick to!

 

That lil V6 in the full size truck body man... I can't compete, or keep up with the V8's. I'm always picking up ya'll's dust. SMDH

If you meant upper ball joint with UPB, then definitely get the total chaos tool, so worth it. You can remove them without it, but it's not worth it. I got one side off with a mix of o'reillys ball joint tools and some creative ham fistedness, but the other side I gave up and called a friend to go pick up the tool from toytec for me.

 

Nice link. Whats the spray pattern reported on these? Two steaming jets like I have now? Or, a fine spritzing only reserved for the best body guys in the biz?

 

Looks like @speedtre's link is right at $16 a piece? Link says "assembly" not kit for both. Am I reading that correctly?

How does this tool work? Is it in conjunction with the kit you rent from Autozone? Or stand alone?

 

Ye. $16 a piece. I might try to slip a mini wedge under the front nosing of my Originals so the jets will angle lower and hit lower versus the current steam hitting so high. Thats the current problem I need solution.

 

Yes, I plan on doing both upper ball joints, as well as LBJ.

I am assuming that the UBJ is original (313k) as I have no record of it being changed, and LBJ have 286,000-ish miles....

How did it go? You’re still alive so that’s good. No blowing your nose for 3 weeks and then the splints come out right?

 

I haven’t gone out and looked at the nozzle, but I am thinking a sliver of hard plastic from packaging material out of the trashcan. Only need to change the trajectory a minuscule amount Scotty.

 

Flush every hour or so. Splints come out in a week. Rough night but I survived. Percocet really helps

 

I think you only need the nozzles and reuse everything else...

I have not seen it, but others have said it does a nice wide fan spray from each nozzle.

You still need the ball joint press kit, but mostly for the c-clamp part. The total chaos tool actually fits our ball joints so they come out.

One caveat is that I installed SPC arms so I didn't try to press in a new Toyota ball joint, but I think the autozone kits work for that.

Also my control arms wouldn't come off the ball joint with the standard puller or the "hit it with a big hammer" method, so I went back and rented a 3 arm puller and that worked much better.

 

My brain still must not have enough Coffee bean juice in it yet.

So, if I'm understanding everything. The tools you used are
c-clamp, total Chaos link, Autozone kit?, 3 jaw puller?

 

Yep, but the c-clamp thing comes with the autozone kit. It's not really a c-clamp.

 

Thanks, I'll look into it after I order my new stuff. Doing more research so I can place one order, one time.

 

Did you still have to disconnect the brakes and swing the spindle out? That was my issue. There wasn't enough room to fit the giant C clamp from AutoZone. It was too tall.

 

Looking at side effects of percocet and it says to notify dr if you have any of these.

That kit will work, but it takes a bit of finagling. You do have to pull the caliper to the other side, then flip the thing over so the clamp end is on top. Then you have to use the cup on the underside of the ball joint, and one of the flat pieces on top. Then hold it all together while you hit it with your impact from the bottom. It's hard to explain and I've drank beer since then but that's about how it goes. It's easier to see with the thing in front of you.

Found my ole strip lights I forgot I had. Went out to test. They look more white in person.


Also investigated PCV valve for me. I will change this out when I do the injectors because I will already be there.


Not sure if mine came with the foam like the 4.7L. So I'm not sure if mine is factory. Either way, can't hurt.
