New member dechroming

Hello all. Recently picked up 2019 platinum. Removing all the exterior chrome and plan to sell parts. Discovered a 50 post minimum to sell stuff on this site?! What’s the logic there? What if someone wants these parts now? Genuinely curious. Thanks!

It's to protect members from buying from recently joined members that could be looking to scam people out of money. So having people to see you active helps protect against that a bit.

And BTW, nobody wants chrome

I do.. so I can sandblast and paint it inferno.. Joking. Was going to do that originally because there's complaints about the plastic bumpers not holding the fog lights properly but.. i'll take my chances. Sandblasting sucks, and hurts.

We aren't Craiglist or Kijiji. It's not join, sell your crap and then leave. If they lifted the rules, I still wouldn't buy from someone who just joined.

Establish a reputation, gain some confidence in members, then they may want to buy your chrome. But even so, no one is probably going to want it.

50 posts is a low number. I have been on groups that required close to 200 posts or a paid annual membership. This reply gets me 1 post closer!!!!!!

 

Put em on eBay if you want to move em quick. In order to sell stuff on forums, you always need to have some sort of minimum post count or a paid subscription.

Especially if you get banned for not following the rules and try to post them for sale here and get reported

 

I did consider that and may do that. Thought there may be a higher concentration of Tundra headlight hunters on a forum like this. Plus I’m scrubbing these forums for info all the time anyway. Seems like about every topic ever has been plowed in to the ground.
