I just ordered the Rago dash plate with the Father’s Day sale. my question is this....I want to drill an extra hole and run my charging cables up to the plate. Can I just install a dual USB behind the dash and splice into the 12v outlet? If I do splice into the 12 V outlet, can I use the 12V while charging the phones? Also, I think it would be cool to add an LED light under the dash plate. Any ideas on which LED I could use? A really dim one would be nice....just enough to illuminate the area to see the phones to connect them.

I’m going to do the same thing with an extra hidden 12v for my gps. I think there is enough power in those wires to run both. It’s just like having a 12v splitter you can buy at wal mart.

Shouldn't have a problem with the extra 12v charging under the plate. Truck voltage is more than enough to handle two chargers. Drilling a hole under the plate is exactly what I did for the GPS cord. all you can see is the last couple inches, rest is hidden inside.
