I am looking at getting a tundra in the very near future. I'm looking at putting Cooper Discoverer SST Pro 295/70/18 with this toytec kit . My question is will the BMC be necessary? Just wondering if I need to find someone who can do the chop. I've looked through the forum a good bit and seen some people need it some don't. Seems to run 35/12.5/18 its needed but for the 295/70r18 it just depends.

Your wheel choice will affect this too. Offset or spacers will change your tire path, so there's a lot of variables beyond just tire size and lift. People way smarter than me will likely chime in with details.

I used the search with the tire size you are after and this is a post I found. https://www.tundras.com/threads/what-offset-for-295-70rx18.68184/#post-1770649 Read a few posts down as well.
Those are not the wheels you said you were looking at though, so you have to find out if the offset is similar or not. Also, Tundras are not all exactly alike, so just because he didn't have body rub doesn't mean yours won't, even if you use the exact same set up.

I’m running +25 offset, NO lift, 295/70/18 with very minor rubbing on driver side front inside liner but not enough to bother me. Had to take off mud flaps in the front. Did not need BMC

Thanks man! That helps. I hadn't read that post but definitely a very similar setup that I'm looking at. Most things I've read have said +20-25 but then some people say 0 and some say negative so I honestly have no idea

What tires do you have? And are they on stock wheels?

According to Discount Tire's website that wheel is available as with 2 offsets. Both are going to stick out more than the +25, so you will probably have more rub than he did.

Those won't be stock wheels. Stock wheels on 3rd gen tundras are +60 IIRC

and no, not on factory wheels. Those are +60 offset.

the closer you get to 0 or even go negative, the more the wheels/tires will stick out past the fenders.

+25 gives me an inch of so past the fenders and I like the look

I have the Toytec Boss in the front and have been pretty happy with them. Glad I went with something that was adjustable on the truck because I have had to make minor adjustments to dial them in since installing. My wheels 20” with +20 offset and tires are currently 285/55.

I have 295/70/18 on the stock wheels with a 3" lift and do not have any problems with rubbing. There was just a hair of rubbing on the skid plate, so I hit it with a hammer once or twice to bend the corner a little and that was all that I needed.
