So I owned a 14 tundra that I put camburg coil overs and bilstein 5100 on the rear . I also had a 3/4 dodge with remote res Kings front and back . I spent a lot of money on the Kings and wasn’t impressed . Which also could have been partly my fault for the way I had them valved . I now own a 17 crew max and looking to build it but want it done right ! I’m looking for that plush ride . I was thinking fox coilovers but I’m up for ideas ! Any input would be greatly appreciated ! Looking to spend right around 1200ish for front and back . I want 3/1 lift . 18” methods with 35x12.5x18 !

Bilstein 6112/5160 seems to be the "best bang for the buck" (I have 6112/5100)

    however,

Comparing what I have now to my old ARB OME setup, I like the OME way better. (around $1200-1600 comes with full Dakar rear leaf) Shocks/springs have better control and absorbs better. The Bilstein setup feels very stock to me, just higher

I went with toytec adjustable coilovers on the front (not the aluma series) and 5160 for the rear paired with toytec shackles.

I just put the ARB OME set up on my truck as mentioned above. I got a hair over 3” in the front and added a rear block for an inch in the back. After 700 miles or so I think I like the ride but was thinking about this plush thing today while driving. I haven’t read any coilovers reviews that screamed plush. Most say “firm”. I would agree with firm but in a good way. The big bumps feel small and the small bumps are not gone but are less noticeable. Frost heaves, or where the pavement is bucked up are not fun anymore though. Sharp is how I would describe them. Nothing seems to unsettle the whole truck anymore though. Planted may be another good word. Dirt/gravel roads are now way more enjoyable. At the end of the day “plush” may be the factory suspension. Maybe steal some rancho shocks from a Z71? :D

Tires and tire pressure are a big factor in ride quality as well.

MCM mid-travel is a great kit. ADS front/back w/Deaver leaf springs. Easily 3" of lift. Not cheap, but rides great and performs well.

Yes! you see what i see. Its like B-U-T-T-E-R

if you get chance to upgrade to some OME rear shocks and dakar leaf pack. Makes a huge difference and the back feels sooo much more in control.

I guess when I say “plush” I just want something better than the 3/4 ton I had . Every little bump felt like I was hitting a curb ! Unless I was sending it in a field at 60mph .

    Another vote for OME!

I have OME 612s, could be more happy with my stance, feel & ride.

For info, check out more signature.

I went with the rear shocks but not the leaf pack. Hopefully I can spring for that and UCAs in the near future. Bad dad joke

Add another vote for OME. Love my setup. Daily drive mine but works great on gravel and dirt roads at speed too.

I spent about $1250 on my 3/1.5 inch setup. Slightly used pro shocks (bilstein version), and coachbuilder shims in the front with coachbuilder +3 shackles in the rear. Very happy with my decision.

I have never been in a pro but am curious how that setup compares to the factory setup you took off?

To me it was a huge improvemet in ride compared to the yellow bilsteins that came on the truck from the factory. I wouldn't pay the price for new trd pro shocks as i think they are overpriced and you could get something better when spending that much. I got my pro shocks used with 30k miles on them for $850 and I'm very happy with them. They also give you a 2" lift in the front. You can add the coachbuilder shims for another inch and then do the shackles in the rear.

I kind of thought that would be the answer. Pro set up is probably what most want the ride to be like but for the price (New) there are too many other good options. I have enjoyed the ride on mine so far but can’t help but wonder if a softer shock would have been a more plush ride. OME is tough to beat for the price.

Not a popular one but I’m running fox 2.0 all around and it’s way better than the stock or suspension. Firmer on low speed but you don’t feel a thing on small bumps and expansion strips on the freeway. Soaks up large bump with no unsettling up joint unlike the yellow bilsteins.
