So my tacoma lease is up in may of 2021, but I have the opportunity to trade it in for a 2020 sport tundra for like 10/ more a month. I leased the Tacoma last year bc they are my favorite trucks and I needed something to tow my small hybrid. The taco did great until I got a bigger camper that weighs 4800 dry. Tho the taco does ok it's not great. I mean with all these lock downs it doesn't look like I'll be camping a lot this year like I usually would so I don't need to jump into the tundra right now. My biggest fear is that I'll get the 2020 and then something significantly changes on the 2021s. Does anyone know if the 2021 tundras will have any major changes?

The V8 may be gone for 2021, go for the 2020.

From what I’ve read about the next gen recently , they might wait till 2022 due to the plants being closed . I also read that the new design is going to be built in Mexico .

Get the 2020. Lots of people think there will be big changes for ‘21 including the possibility of smaller supercharged engines. Also, you never want to get something the first model year especially if they go with a new engine. o_O

last I heard, the model change was expected to arrive in late 2021 as a 2022 model. With that being the case, I wouldn't expect there to be any major changes for 2021. If you need a truck now, I don't see any reason to wait.

Yeah, 2021 trucks have already been shown in Chicago I thought. No major changes for 2021 model year, other than some trim changes. 2022 model year is when the new Tundra will come at earliest.

    In progress…
The new Tundra will still be made in Texas. All Tacomas are being made in Mexico.

Like others already said, the new Tundra is 2022 now, delayed again, plus the virus delay = 2022 model year for revamped Tundra.
This is what I have read, and what my local dealer told me, as they have zero information on it yet.

If you need more power, space, awesomeness, and slightly less gas mileage now, upgrade to the Tundra you mentioned, IF it has the options you really want, and look into the new Tundra in 2023 or 24, or find a nicer used Tundra with a v8 at that time.

And yes, the Tundra will still be made in Texas, with the Tacoma production supposedly moving to Mexico :puke:

My thoughts... get the Tundra you want now and enjoy it for at least 3 years. This should give them time to get the redesign launched and shake out any bugs they find.
