What did you use on the truck? Just a wash or did you go after it with sealant/wax.

 

Did a wash and hit it with Meguiars new 3 in 1 on a Da polisher then topped it with Wolfgang fuzion wax. Also did the tires with the dura dressing from dura coating and did the wheel wells and whole frame with dura coatings dura coat X

 

I love this thread. There is no end to the products I haven’t tried or heard about. You obviously like the time and products it takes to care for your ride so welcome to this thread. It’s an endless black hole of things you’ll want to try.

Do you normally use 3m finesse on RVs? I'm looking to detail mine and it has some light oxidation, not sure what polish and wax to use on it or if your normal car products would work?

Got threw the first one of the week. Cquartz is done. Now time to put it away for a couple days. Trd 5th gen that was not f’ing white. Thank god for that.

CarPro ceriglass polish lost badly to griots glass polish.

Yeah almost anything meant for marine use can be used on fiberglass RVs. Normal car products can work to an extent, but the marine/RV specific products will make it a much easier and efficient job. If it's just light oxidization and it's your personal RV, just get a cleaner wax (Meguiars makes a good marine/RV specific product). Will remove the oxidization and simultaneously wax (two steps in one).

 

Thanks! I just looked and Meg's has a 3 step rv kit I'm going to try. Oxidation, polish, wax kit, looks promising. I'll post pics as I go through

 

Figured my own truck was due for a detail. Just a wash, tar remover, stripped the sealant (Meg's Ultimate Liquid Wax), and applied Meg's M27 with a second layer of Meg's M799 added. Got about 4 solid months out of a single application of the ULW without any maintenance. Was showing signs of failure (spots losing water beading).

Also vacuumed about 14 pounds of sand from the inside thanks to a day trip to the beach yesterday.

 

Don't sleep on it because it says turtle wax. I've been religiously using this for the past 2 months over all my high end spray waxes.

Spent the afternoon yesterday shining mine up! Winters in Northern Ontario are quite harsh on the paint finish, especially with the use of a snow brush, salt/sand and the tar from the spring time pot hole season... Started by a good wash, then used the Mothers Claybar System to remove tar and other contaminants. Finished it off with a wax/buff using Meguiar's Ultimate Paste Wax.
