Enjoy prying the rocks out from between the duals. And pray the sidewalls aren’t damaged! Sometimes the only way to remove them was to deflate one of the tires.

You're a tech. I'm guessing they don't provide general tools as my employment does not.
Specialty tools? Yes. General tools? No.

The tools I buy to use at work are justified, and can be replaced by my employer should I happen to break them at work.

Home tools, for a long time were different for me. I had a set of wrenches, and that was it. That was all I allowed myself. The reason I WAS half-ass skittish on buying tools for the house is I spent 80% of my time at work. Leaving very little time for home/sleep.

After sleeping on it, I thought about your predicament some more. Have you ever used a Uni-bit? They have great control and cutting ability and you can drill multiple size holes from one bit. They cost about $40 for one, but they are worth it. I like Klein or Irwin.

Ok so I apologize ahead of time if this is in another post that I could not find.

06 tundra Access cab, is there a good way to install a CB radio without causing to much headache. Second question, where did y'all mount the antenna on my old truck I had a long whip on the rear bumper which I still have ( the whip not the truck). I'm not 100% on if i should though.
I just wanted some input from you folks before I get into something that I wish I hadn't.

I actually did look for one, but could not find one at either store I went to yesterday.
Both locations were sold out, and wanted that job done then. Lol

Nearest one of those is 1 hour plus some one way...
Opted for the close at hand bits for time savings. (Less than 20 minute round trip)

I'll pick one up the next time I'm over that way.

Does anyone drive around town (below 45) with o/d off? I may start doing that cause i hear the 00-02 tundras have weak o/d gears. I hear some people do that on all of their cars btw. Though i doubt the manufacturer reccomends that

I never use O/D because that is how I was taught to drive.
When I was taught "O/D is for towing."

Since that time I have read conflicting reports/stories. Some use, some do not use... Here I am stuck in the middle trying to figure out which is correct.

I have ALWAYS felt like a ginormous dumb-ass regarding this topic so I never really asked.

I was waiting for someone else to bring it up.

Ive heard opposite. When towing you should not use od, so "o/d" off is what u should use. So u always drive around with od off? I have noticed with it off my shift points are slightly different. My 3rd-4th gear at 40 mph is buttery smooth i can barely feel it. Only when od is off..

That's backwards. You want OD off for towing. Basically if you're towing the transmission could shift in and out of OD and it will build up heat faster.

Around town you'll likely not see much benefit since OD typically (not 100% on the A340) won't engage under about 35mph.

    Interesting.
Well, good to know. Definitely will start doing that.

I'm not too sure on the A340 either, or of which jasper transmission replacement that was put in. I was 12 at the time of repair so I wasn't paying very much attention...

Scored a 3rd gen Tacoma trd exhaust with a collapsed muffler, going to chop it up and combine it with the 2nd gen taco magnaflow muffler and hopefully have a complete exhaust with no drone soon

    Regarding the green running boards...

Color match, or just black all the way around?

Those were the same color as the ones I scored at the junkyard.

Paint them black. It will look nice on your Silver. @Darkness will approve I’m sure.

@Pucks18 and @Tundra2 and whoever else cares.

The Toy manual says when Towing to DISENGAGE your O/D.

I’ve had my truck since new in 2002. I’ve always towed around town with the O/D in the ON position except:

    1) Climbing steep hills.

    2) High Head Winds against the trailer.

    3) Passing at high speeds.

All three of these scenarios make the O/D toggle quickly in and out of gears which isn’t good for the transmission. When this happens I click the button so O/D is OFF.

Also, I do not use Cruise Control when towing because it likes to toggle the 3rd and 4th gear.

FUN FACTOID: The Toy Manual also says to disengage the Cruise Control when coasting at high speeds downhill regardless of towing, or not.

With all the o2 Sensors speaking Japanese and all 4 fresh and new, I can tell you my MPG has gone up by about 1 MPG. I’ve gone through about 5 tanks and the improvement seems mostly in City driving. My highway driving MPG is the same basically.

Compared my driving to notes taken over about a year and a half.

Was getting 12-13MPG and now a solid 14 in the same City driving.

Highway is 17-18MPG which was the normal prior.

    MAF is new, as well.

Must be similar to my turn signal relay wiring. It works, and then it doesn't. I've felt around what I can reach for a broken wire somewhere. No dice yet, but I have not removed anything yet to fully investigate.

Maybe its a bad pin in the plug?

In all honesty, I first noticed the turn signal issue after I had bragged on my el-cheapo relay. I assumed the relay was going bad due to me opening my big trap. That is the way things go bad for me. If I never brag they never go bad.

Ordered @empty_lord's reccomendation, and all appeared good. The problem returned shortly after the video I posted about the turn signals.

Sorry for the blurry pic, was more worried about keeping the flies away than getting a solid pic. Wife made these Hawaiian style buns last night, the sweetness pairs well with the salty bacon, too much pepper, and the sharp cheddar.
