Who owns Timbrens? Best clearance?

Yes you use the bolt reciever. You have to use an Allen type bolt for the super bumps because the hole is more narrow and you can't get a socket in

These seem more forgiving and I think are custom order, the bracket has a hole for a longer screw and there are 2 spacers. I contacted them to inquire, don't see them sold anywhere (pics off Taco forum). However off-season, I'd leave the spacers there and still exchange in some sort of shorter bumpstop.

This post had me originally wondering if the heavier-rated black 610-47 would be better than the 610-40, and perhaps the stiffer Timbren is just the way to go. Not interested in AirBags for the limited number of times I tow.

 

Only downside I see with those is I wonder how easy it is to change bump stops out between when you’re towing and not. Compared to how easy John is able to switch between super bumps and timbren

 

True, would have to find a compatible shorty bumpstop since once installed, that long bolt is staying there.

And I prefer being able to socket the bolt tight from the top in the Timbren.

 

great, not jarring at all. i ran timbrens on my last truck (f150) and the ride was also perfect.
to me this is the ideal set up. i dont think you can have a true dual purpose rear, can carry heavy loads and the next day just float over bumps. so this is the best compromise. yes you need to swap some parts but like i said, it takes me longer to get the frame up than it does to swap bump stops

 

Came back to say thanks again and this is a great solution, I have 3" clearance (with 1.5" shackles) and only add spacers when I tow. Ride is stock day-to-day.

I did buy SuperBumps but they're going in the front to replace the god awful slamming rocks.

For anyone else considering this...

Took 20min to install with breaker/impact/torque wrench. The perches are on permanently as 94 said.

For the spacers, I jack the rear middle, put on frame stands, drop the middle allowing leaf clearance to insert a socket from the top, easy-peasy.

 

Anytime. Glad it worked out.
One thing I would check is if the bumps are the same for front and rear. When I was talking to wheelers they asked where I was putting them because the ones for the rear are a softer compound.

 

No worries, I actually ordered front ones with the intention of installing them there after reading more into SB's and watching some vids.

I’m looking a getting the timbrens for the rear. I currently have a 1” block in the rear. Anyone know if the timbrens will still fit properly?

I'm not familiar with block setups but if the 1" block increases the distance 1" from frame to leaf spring, then you'll need a 1" Timbren spacer on both sides.
