Stoked to join the big boy club with the new Tundra!

2020 Cavalry Blue SR5 with offroad package:


I previously built a 2017 Tacoma TRD offroad. I had a fun time building this rig and had many adventures over the past 3 years. However, the family outgrew the truck, so I needed something bigger.


My color choices were Cement, Cavalry Blue and Army Green. Obviously the Army Green was only available in the Pro trim so I striked that color since I didn't want to overpay on a truck which I would end up modifying anyway.

Also, programmed the Lexus credit card fob to my ECU. No more carrying around keyrings with fobs anymore!

I didn’t like the blacked out overlay badges so I ended up debadging everything:

Got me some new shoes!

Method Race Wheels - 702 in bronze 17x8.5

Suspension finally came in. These were ordered from Accutune Off-road and custom valved for my needs.

Fox 2.5 DSC Factory Race Series with remote reservoirs.

Also got some SPC upper control arms to push the caster forward to minimize rubbing.

Here’s a post install pic. Gained 3” up front after removing some preload. Keep in mind that Fox, King, ADS coilovers usually come preloaded for approx 3.75”.


How it sits from the side. I have a Camburg rear shackles that gives it approx 1.5” lift. Deaver U748 leaf springs will be installed later when I get armor and gear on.

 

Finally got my ARB CKMAT12 Twin compressor installed on the mount made by user @Bannock452

 

What are the tire specs? Looks awesome! Never seen the trd pro grill on a cav blue, turned out nice! What other mods do you have planned next?

Tires are 35’s KO2 - 35x12.5x17
Wheels are Method 702 in bronze - 17x8.5



Armor and Tent coming soon. CBI bumpers, skids, bed rack and prinsu roof racks are all ordered. Still undecided on the tent and may do another camper in the future.

Great choices on the mods and clean install on everything. Are you going to do a hidden winch?

I agree and like how it turned out.

It will be in the CBI full front bumper so it will sorta be hidden. I’m getting their new Tundra bumper minus the full hoops.

 

I never really liked the Cavalry blue - I think because of the factory chrome accents. With the black TRD Pro grille and the bronze wheels it looks amazing! Really, really good work!

Do you have a head-on picture of the tire poke?

 

Funny you say that cause I almost went with Cement. Yeah, I like how it’s turning out.

Got the proclip usa no-drill mount installed. Love this thing!

 

My previous tacoma had a dual battery setup with a pair of full throttle batteries. That setup was heavy AF so this time, I went with a single instead. Here's Full Throttle's newly released group 27F which is a drop-in for Tundras, 4 runners, etc.



Also got more suspension goodies - Durobumps for each corner and Deaver U748 leaf springs for the heavy load to come.

 

After waiting for about 5 months, my armor was ready to be installed. Instead of DIY, I decided to make a trip out to CBI Offroad Fab in Idaho Falls for the install.

But first, I installed WeBoost's new Drive Reach cell booster. This thing is amazing; full bars everywhere which kept the family happy during the roadtrip.
