That sucks, but everything is an excuse for an upgrade. Make them buy you a good steel aftermarket bumper.

Not a bad idea, but the whole purpose of the SX package is to get the painted bumpers!

I am very lucky in that at first I wanted to take delivery and take the truck to Ziebart myself so I could make sure it wasn’t a moron applying the coating. Apparently I never got past the moron driving it over there. Anyway, if it had happened to me after taking delivery, well that would have left less options. Dealership has a white TRD Off Road and a Beige one as well. I kind of like the quicksand color, but not the fake chrome bumper.

Not as happy as I would like - No more SXs on their lot. Say they can’t do dealer swaps right now. Offered me a slightly reduced price on a Quicksand TRD off-road, bringing other down to $39k even, and a free ceramic coating from Ziebart(was paying $1200).

My ziebart was $700 2 years ago. Where are you? I think they marked that up to make it sound like you are getting a good deal. Not sure about the $39k deal. I haven’t priced them for awhile. But remember if you walk out they will call you. They most likely need to sell more than you need to buy. Doesn’t hurt to look some more so you are happy.

I’m in Syracuse. Ziebart wanted $1599 if not from a dealer. Yes I thought that was high too. I haven’t been able to find a really good reputable detail shop in town besides Ziebart.

Damn. I’m in Watertown. I got ziebart and a $300 remote start for $1k. Might want to call them and make the 80 mile drive if it’ll save you a few hundred. Pretty sure you can get the yearly respray done anywhere.

I don’t think prices went up that much in 2 years.

Where did you get your Tundra? This deal is at the Burdick Drivers Village one.

They offered me a $1000 off the truck once it is repaired by the Toyota body shop, and a free ceramic coating, if stay with the SX, so basically saving $2200. Uggghh. I just don’t know. It could always be in the back of my mind that the thing was never really new to me, and I can spot paint repairs a MILE away on any vehicle. My buddy, a body shop guy, taught me how. I wish he hadn’t.

I agree. Until I walked into the dealer last week, I didn’t even know of the SX package. Now, I’m in love with the clean look of no badges and paint matched bumpers.

I’m meeting with the dealer at 1PM tomorrow to look at the quicksand(which I do like the color of).
Before that, I’ll be calling about a half dozen dealers between Syracuse, Rochester, Buffalo, and Binghamton all showing Red SXs in stock.

I bought my truck down in Fairfax, VA, but have had some service done at Waite Toyota and have had good experiences. We did go in to look at 4 Runners for the wife one time though and the salesman was clueless.
