I have no special training, and have gone WAY too fast on some entrance/exit ramps in the tundra. I was very stupid at the time. KSP put me in my place.

Sloping curve on the Western Kentucky parkway, Elizabethtown exit, 90! I almost lost it. I thought to myself "never again" then I saw the blue lights, and it really sunk in....

I would love to just have a deserted highway or track open for me to play around. I realize that's a ludicrous idea because that would be massively expensive. But I think every car/truck guy has thought "what if I had a whole track to myself" once or twice.

Join a club, get cheap track time. Saab club used to do annual events but I think thats over with. BMW clubs often have track events. Probably the Miata folks do too. Check out the calendar of your 'local' track & see who's there a lot.

    @NUDRAT

Did a quick google. Most of the "local" tracks are mud-bog events, or demo derbies. Pretty sure my two wheel peel can't compete there lol

I mean hell, if I slow down enough in the right spot in the yard I get stuck lol

Some driving events provide cars/instructors. BMW often has events/ cars as part of their Susan G Komen drive for a cure.

I’m actively looking for an mr2 to track after I swap a 3.5 v6 in.

Okay, first off. I love the land cruiser. Is that right hand drive, or are the pictures misleading? I don't have that kind of cash laying around at the moment, nor the earned income.

I read some of the article for the BMW event. Website kept asking me for cookies. I'll read it later on the big screen. I never would have thought that lil ole country bumpkin like me could be behind the wheel of a Big money waster one day. Lol at least a possibility, and for a good cause!

Found a picture of the tundra from 2014, from before she was mine. You guys probably do not want to see the rest of the picture...20200605_234733.jpg

My kit came in to run the power wire for my dash cam from the internal fuse box into the head liner.

Would it be worth my time to sound proof the roof also? If so I'll wait to do everything at once.

Headliner clean, sound mat, and running power cord.

Think removing the headliner is a job I want to tackle once.

Thinking of also running my 10 foot type c cord under the passenger side floor mat, up the passengers side pillar and over to the new phone mount also. Only downside of the new mount is it REQUIRES a fast charger to operate correctly. I'm not sure if there is a fast charger fuse tap I can use.

[IMG] Crazy this truck makes the taco look small. But this tundra next to a long bed 2nd gen looks tiny.

Yes. There’s minor work to make the engine clear the trunk. But it’s been done. Frankenstein motorworks is the guy to talk to.
He’s got a circuit board to make the BEAN network communicate to the cab system of the 2gr computer

I am the kid. Pops bought a swing chair for 3 people about a month ago. I happened to commandeer the A-frame for rear frame treatment, rear leafs, and the works.

Spare tire jack is pretty crusty, but still works.

Worth saving? Or better off to replace?

The frame is a no brainer.
    20200607_164125.jpg

    Frame:
Passenger side moderate rust, and scale last 6 inches from 6 in. to 16. light scale, after that little to no rust, just dirty.

Drivers side moderate scale and rust last 7 in. from 7 in. up to 11 in. light rust and scale, rest is dirty

All measurements are from end of frame to the front of the truck.

Ng. Only two bolts did not rust completely through. This adds some serious time to the job.

Will the 2nd bathroom be needed, replacing the alcove/closet?

    Heres where I'm at.

Frames super clean, and free of dirt. Minus the rust it looks almost new.

Before dinner I sprayed some Kroil on the 4 studs that broke/rusted for bed mount.

Tapped on em with a hammer, and went inside to eat. Came out gave em all another tapper-roo.

Drilled through one with a left handed bit, and put an extractor on it. Saw the extractor start to twist so I stopped. Drilled out a size bigger, and went at it with a larger extractor. This one didn't twist. Saw the broken bolt just start to turn and then I snapped both welds off holding the nut to the frame.

Its the one right next to the gas tank. There's not enough room to remove it, and just instal another nut there when I go back on with the bed. Any thoughts?

I'll edit in some pics in a minute.

The bed bolts if they break can usually be removed with vise grips from the bottom and “tightening” then till they’re out.

Okie dokie, well I gave her a go. Think I'll spray some kroil on it, and be done for today

Tried flat jaw, and curved jaw vise grips. Both were just removing bolt material.

The one by the gas tank (front left from now on or FL) Tried to get some vise grips in there, but the hole is too tight :)rofl:) ended up going with 17 mm wrench and trying the big extractor on it. Rounded one side of the nut off. NG.

So new plan on that one. Rotate nut so I have fresh sides, and try from the bottom with vise grips. Gas tank is in the way. Not enough room there.

Heres what I'm thinking tomorrow I'll borrow a Sawzall and try to remove the lower portion of the bolt stud. Get enough clearance to just out right remove that one.

Vise grips rounded left middle, left rear, right middle, and right rear.

    They are all stuck TIGHT.

I do not have a thread sizer here, anyone know off hand what size/thread nut I will need?

Its a fine thread something. If I had to guess 12mmX1.5mm?

    The darkest
    It's really dark
Spent an hour playing with the pup outside trying to tire him out before we let him in the house for the first time. I had some work to do in the computer room and my wife gave the pup a bath.

    HOLY SHIT!

I didn't know getting a bath put puppy's into overdrive! Little bastard was doing burnouts up and down my hall way, doing donuts around my chair in the computer room, he attacked me and I stiffarmed him, then he peeled out to visit my wife.

He stayed at full boost for almost an hour, I could hear my wife telling him "NO" over and over in the room. Then just when I was finishing my work, I noticed it was quiet. I walked over and saw he is knocked out on his blanket. If that's a sign of things to come idk how I'm getting any work done the next few weeks.

How old is Tuco? Dixie, the 5 month old heeler is literally a ball of lightning in canine form.
