Hey guys, I have a 19 Sport Crewmax and swapped over to 6112 (1.9" lift) a couple months ago. I didn't notice too much change once I swapped them over from stock and kinda wish I went full bore and cried once...

My truck is very heavy and soon to be a tad more (7600 fully loaded). Check my upgrades so far below.

If I pull the trigger on Kings, what can I expect? Will it actually feel like a different world?

Right now forest roads, pot holes, and speed bumps make you brace for impact at slow speeds. With this much weight I never expected this much bounce on the 6112's.

The truck is my daily driver, but every weekend I'm out in the woods of Oregon. Logging roads, snow, mud, and just anything I can find to adventure over. I'm not going crazy just some serious exploring.

Has anyone took off the front sway bar with the 6112's? I usally see people pull it off with better shocks, but I haven't read posts about the 6112's without the bar.

Front axle is about 3750 LBS
    Rear is 3600+ LBS
Total 7400 and sometime 7600 LBS

    Front TRD Swaybar
    No Rear swaybar

2019 Crewmax, SSO Slimeline winch bumper, with a Smitty X20, 6112 Bilsteins at 1.9 lift, one CB shim drivers side, SPC UCA, 34.5" Nitto ridge grapplers, Rear Alcan springs 700 lbs over, Bilsteins with dual res, CB shackles, Decked box and Snugtop canopy.

Are you getting heavier springs as well?

I'm still on the ledge of dumping the 6112's. If I do upgrade I will most likely go with the 700's or possibly a tad more. I would be asking the reps for my trucks weight before buying the Kings.

Sorry to hear your not happy with your setup

It’s close to what I plan on doing with my 18’ if this country ever opens back up to 100% and my work load improves so I can afford to upgrade my suspension etc

Going to follow this thread to see how you make out and what setup you end up with

Let’s see some pics of your RIG !!

I don't know the answer, but your truck looks great. With the Alcan leafs do you have increased travel and need extended rear shocks? If so, then you may need to go custom or ADS deaver spec??

These Alcan rear springs were built to same height specs as stock for my ride. They are more progressive with the extra leafs, allowing them to be smoother and are build to hold more weight. The rear 5160's, fit fine with my CB shackles (1.5" actual lift if I recall) so far, barely touched my bump stops in the rear so far.

I'm no expert on suspension, but just naming the brand you want is kinda vague. There will be differences within any given brand's line up, so whether or not you feel it is going to depend heavily on what level you choose. Kings, Fox, OME, Icon, etc. all have varying "feels" so you're best bet would be to talk to an honest rep for your desired brand about what you have and what you want to see where they can help you.

Are you dead set on Kings? Similar performance can be had from just about any brand, but I know some members had posted about corrosion issues with certain brands more than others. I'm just old and cannot remember which ones they said it about. Just another angle to look at it from.

Keep us posted on any progress or info, and good luck!

I’ve had stock, 6112’s, king 2.5, king 3.0, soon to be fox lt...I was actually impressed with the 6112’s for the money. Love my kings, def notice a diff in 3.0 vs 2.5

I haven't specifically heard of anyone with 6112s removing their front sway bar, but just do it. It isn't difficult to do and you can put it back on if you don't like it. The other thing to consider is trying a non-TRD sway bar, depending upon where you live you may be able to find someone that has one sitting in their yard just waiting to be given away. Before dropping more money on your suspension, give that a try.
But also, yes Kings are always the answer. Make sure you get the finned resi. :D

I'm sure it'll be better, but not much better. The biggest perk of higher end shocks is you can tune them to your liking, hoping that it's a night and day difference out of the box will lead to being disappointed. Essentially you'll be shooting in the dark that King or Fox or whoever and their canned shock tune will be closer to what you want.

Course with that said, I'm sure all the King fan boys will jump in, and literally no one actually takes the time and effort to tune their suspension--- but IF you do, which the Kings will allow, then it could be a night and day difference.

Just tell the OP to ditch his swaybar and we'll pretend to tune our shocks next weekend.

LOL I think I stumbled upon a "bromance".

I like the idea of swapping out the front sway bar to a stock one to see if it frees up the suspension. Also I love to tinker on projects, so if I went with Kings, Fox, or Icons nerding out and fine tuning the suspension is fine by me. If I was a set it and forget it kinda guy, I wouldn't be looking to improve the 6112s so soon.

I'm not stuck on the kings, just trying to figure out what would be the end game suspension without going long travel and redesigning the front end. I should of bought bigger from the start and not been stuck here in the middle of the road, but I was trying to be modest and not buy more than I needed, now I'm seeing I needed more from the start.

Has anyone successfully made (or found) an end link setup that can be removed in less than 5 minutes with only a couple tools? Hmm Jeeps have electronic controlled sway bars...

Also if anyone has a stock front sway bar for sale in Oregon/Washington let me know.
