Door locks failing with remote and switch

Just started today. My locks on all doors besides the driver one don’t lock/unlock with the remote or switch on drivers or passengers door. But if I unlock them all, drive above 15 or 20mph, they still auto lock. Does anyone know what’s wrong?

 

Ay, join the club. Searches will suggest bad actuators or a bad main switch. Good luck. I have the opposite, with only the driver not unlocking

 

If that’s the case shouldn’t the auto lock feature also not work?

 

So a few more things I’ve come across just want to make sure it’s actually the motors before driving in.

locking works fine. Truck auto locks above 15mph, key fob locks, inside switch locks the doors too.
But unlocking in any fashion doesn’t work. Even if I’m inside, lock the door manually, then pull the door latch, it doesn’t unlock (which it does on the one working door). Is that a dead motor or a something else? Checked the fuses too.

 

I’m in the experiment also, if I had a clear answer I’d share.

so far, my digging is leading to (most common) bad motor or master switch. Your case sounds like a master switch but I’m no tech. Apparently some people have had multiple motors go out, which I think is crazy, but that’s just what the googles has documented on the interwebs

 

I just replaced the motor in my driver door. I had issues with them not locking and unlocking. Fixed the problem. There is linkage between the door handle and the door lock assembly that allows the doors to open with the handle even if locked. Best thing is to remove the door panel and make sure nothing has come loose. If I had to guess its the motor is bad. I ordered all 4 of them for around $24. Not a hard fix. Make sure you reinsert the outer door handle linkage when reinstalling, its a small metal rod that connects the outer door handle to the lock assembly.

Ordered the motors so we’ll see. Pretty crazy 3 would go dead at the exact same time but who knows. Probably need to be replaced anyways after 135k miles

 

You can’t make this stuff up. I ordered everything, locks haven’t been working for almost a week now. Go to reach around and unlock my rear door, and all my locks are unlocked. The remote works again. The switch on the panels works again. Literally out of the blue. I haven’t done anything. Maybe something got jostled around? Might still replace them all anyways.

 

Crazy things happen. Because its so common of a problem and you already had an issue I would go ahead and change them, it only takes a few minutes for each door.
