2002 Tundra 2wd

Just got a 2002 2wd V-6 tundra and A/C is not working and sounds like the compressor is failing making a loud grinding noise my question is , is there a separate belt because for it I really cant tell from the top looking down and can I just take it off till I replace the compressor and still be able to drive it ?
