I’ve been toying with the idea of putting 17” steel crawler wheels on my 2016 Tundra TRD PRO. I know they can bend but that’s better than a cracked wheel in my opinion. When you air down you get way better traction with the smaller wheel and I like the look. Other than a few extra lbs is there anything else I should consider?

If you are going with a smaller wheel, just make sure it will clear the calipers, both front and back. Also, I am assuming you know that steel wheels require a different style lug nut than the alloys do. Also check for proper lug nut torque, On my '08, the steel wheel torque is over 150 ft lbs, way more that the alloys.

There's really no 5x150 aftermarket steelies available. You MIGHT be able to find some in Australia, but you'd have to import them and that would make it VERY cost prohibitive. Ali Baba may have some, but you'll have some crazy minimum like 300 pieces or something like that. I think the SR steel wheels are 18", so those are out. Just get forged wheels. They'll bend too.
