A little while back I decided I had made a style error when I had the dealer install the brushed stainless steps on my Army green trd pro. After looking around for some cheap used predators or other black steps, I decided to black out the stainless part on my steps using some wrap from Rvinyl.

It looks a little different, but overall I'm happy with the new look. We'll have to see how the 3M wrap holds up over time.

Nice .... I had the stainless installed as part of my purchase negotiation. I went with those because I had them on my previous tundra for 11years and they did not rust/discolor and were perfect for my son and wife . The more I look at them the more I want to do the very same thing . Yours look great .

Nice I just did mine as well with 3m satin black the same as my wrap.

    I used the 2080.

I went with the brushed stainless on delivery because I had them on my 1794, and liked the look and the width of the steps. And I was afraid of changing to the predator drop steps because of a lack of experience with them.

But after living with them for a while I decided that the stainless part interfered with the blacked out look that the rest of the truck had.

So far they're holding up, but have only been done since early May. I think the only issue is whether you step on the wrapped section, but I've concluded that that seldom happens.

I took the steps off and also removed the plastic step pads and that allowed me to do the wrap without having to "trim" the wrap around the step pads. The wrap took two 1x5 sections of deep black matte. Materials were about $50 bucks.
